Do you want to save battery on your Samsung mobile ? It is not only useful to adjust the brightness level to the minimum. You have to take into account other factors, such as screen resolution, performance usage, or background apps. Here I show you 5 tricks that will be of use to you to save battery.
Apply dark mode
This trick works on those Samsung mobiles with AMOLED panel. Most terminals, even the mid-range ones, have screens with AMOLED technology. The blacks on these panels are actually dull pixels. Therefore, applying the dark mode will save a little more autonomy, since most of the pixels on the screen will be off. It has already been proven that we can save up to 30 percent more battery life with dark mode.
How to activate the dark tone in the Samsung Galaxy? There are different ways. The simplest? unfolding the notification panel, and in the shortcut control, click where it says 'Dark mode'. We can also go to Settings> Screen and activate the dark tone in the interface. Many of the third-party applications will also adapt to these colors.
Change screen resolution
In Samsung mobiles we can adjust the resolution of the screen. In this way, we can change from Full HD to HD resolution in a few steps. It is a good option to save battery, since in this way the pixel density on the screen is lower. Also, unless the panel is large, you will not notice differences.
To change the screen resolution, go to Settings> Display> Screen resolution.
Adjusts the battery performance mode
Another interesting option for Samsung mobiles to save autonomy: adjust the battery performance mode. Galaxy devices allow us to switch between different modes, depending on what is best for our phone. For example, we can choose a high performance mode. Here the battery is sacrificed in order to achieve the maximum possible performance and the best screen quality. There is also an intermediate mode, to continue with a good performance, but adjusting it in order to save a little more autonomy.
But if you want to save battery, you must select the 'Maximum saving' mode. It is activated from Settings> Device maintenance> Battery> Performance mode. Select the last option. A window will open with different options. Among them, that the CPU limits its speed to 70 percent. Or lower the brightness to -10%. Click on 'Apply' and wait for the mode to activate. It even limits the use of some apps.
To deactivate this mode, slide the notification panel and tap on the blue button with the battery icon. If you don't want such powerful energy savings, you can always select another option.
Change the display frequency
At the moment, this trick only works for the Samsung Galaxy S20, since they are the only terminals of the company that have a screen frequency of 120 Hz. This high frequency makes the screen move more fluidly. However, it affects the use of the battery, and causes it to drain quickly. If you want to achieve a battery saving, deactivate this frequency from the settings. To do this, go to Settings> Display> Motion fluidity. Select 'Standard Refresh Rate' (60Hz).
Put apps to sleep
Some apps use more battery than usual. Samsung allows us to put them in idle mode, so that they do not consume resources in the background. Ideally, you should activate this mode in those apps that consume more resources or that you do not use. This option is found in Settings> Device maintenance> Battery> Application power management. Next, click on 'Inactive Apps' and click the button below to add other apps that you don't use.
