The Taiwanese Acer relies on Windows again. At least on Windows Phone 7. After being disappointed with the results of Microsoft's previous version of the platform for mobile devices, Windows Mobile 6.5, the Asian company has assured that it will reserve a part of its production to house the new operating system that Redmond have designed for smart phones.
This is what Gianfraco Lanci, CEO of Acer, has said , who in statements to the Mobilized publication pointed out that looking at the current version of Windows for mobile phones, they plan to give it the same opportunities that they contemplate for Android (until now, its central platform for the next few months).
As Lanci told Mobilized, "a couple of years ago we saw a multitude of limitations in Windows Mobile, and that is why we decided to switch to Android as our favorite operating system." However, the Taiwanese company does not opt for more exact details about when we would start to see the first Acer phones based on the Windows Phone 7 operating system.
In fact, confidence in Windows so far has only materialized in the announcement of one of the tablets that the company presented last week in New York, which will incorporate Windows 7 Starter Edition (the platform for netbooks).
Let's remember that at the same event, Acer took the opportunity to present a powerful and shiny smartphone that, although it has not yet been officially baptized, has already focused the attention of the technological world for enjoying a technical profile of heart attack, with a 4.8-inch screen and high resolution, as well as an eight megapixel camera and a processor with a performance of one GHz.
