The Taiwanese Acer has shown its new line of tablets for 2011. It is a set of three devices: two of them with Android operating system and the other with Windows 7 (in an edition similar to the one installed by netbooks). This was announced at the appearance he held in New York this Tuesday, November 23. The devices are distributed two computers with a 10.1-inch screen (an Android and Windows 7), and another seven-inch (which corresponds to the remaining Android).
Regarding the prices and launch dates of these devices, the manufacturer announced that the first to reach the market will be the model with Windows 7 and a 10.1-inch screen, which we will be able to see from next February. For its part, the models equipped with Android will not arrive until the beginning of the third quarter of next year, specifically, until the month of April. At the moment, there are no official prices.
The first of these devices is a tablet with a 10.1-inch screen and an Android operating system. The panel is multi-touch, and is equipped with a very complete connectivity system, including 3G, Wi-Fi and HDMI. The thickness of this device is 13.3 millimeters, developed in a robust and elegant aluminum casing.
And although the next model is tiny, not inferior in performance who is set on it. Again, we repeat with Android system, although now with a seven-inch panel diagonal and resolution of 1,280 x 800 pixels in 16: 9 format (so far, the panel with the highest point density for a tablet). By incorporating the Flash 10.1 module, it is clear to us that it is Android 2.2 Froyo version, compatible with this system. Like the 10.1-inch version, it has 3G, Wi-Fi and HDMI, as well as a front camera for HD quality video chat.
Finally, the 10.1-inch edition with Windows 7 implies a very original concept. It is a device in two pieces, where the screen constitutes the tablet itself in the form of a removable panel. It incorporates an accessory keyboard with the dimensions that we would find in a netbook, which provides the best of a tablet and the comfort of a laptop. The whole weighs about one kilo and involves fifteen millimeters thick. It is based on an AMD processor and includes two 1.3 megapixel cameras each, and the sameconnection combo than its Android siblings.
