While configuring mobile options can be boring, this process will save you a lot of time and moments of frustration. I know, there are many options to configure, but we give you help with 9 items that are among the first things you should do with your Samsung mobile.

Set a screen lock option
If you want your mobile to be protected when it falls into the hands of curious friends or family, activate some of the screen lock options.
Depending on the model of your Samsung mobile you will find different locking options. You will have the basics like setting a pattern, setting a PIN, password, etc. Or you can use fingerprint, facial recognition, smart scan or iris scanner.
So look in Settings >> Lock screen and security >> screen lock type. Or head straight to Biometrics if you use any of the last three options we mentioned. Check what options your device offers and choose the one you consider the safest.
Install a custom theme to your mobile
Now that you have made sure that your mobile is protected, it is time to spend a few minutes customizing it. And a simple way is applying a theme that combines colors, icons and images that you like.

Don't worry if you find several themes that you like, since you can change them as many times as you want. You only need to follow the steps indicated in the links.
Choose a launcher with more customization options
If you want to have control over every detail of your mobile interface and have as many options as possible to customize the dynamics of your mobile, then change the launcher.
There are so many options to choose from. One of the favorites is Nova Launcher, which offers much more than we can expect and is very easy to configure. If you have patience in knowing all the possibilities it offers, you will find that the dynamics of the mobile completely change.
Or you can opt for a more specific proposal. If you like Microsoft services or you have a Windows computer, you can choose Microsoft Launcher as it will give an extra to its customization options
Lock home screen
If you've already spent time managing your installed apps and widgets to find them easily, you don't want to accidentally lose these settings. Either because you carry it without locking in your pocket or because some curious people have taken your mobile without permission.
To save time, just turn on the Home screen lock. You will find this in Settings >> Home screen settings >> Lock home screen layout. Once this option is activated, no one will be able to change the way you have organized the home screen.
Control notifications
To avoid being overwhelmed by notifications from installed apps, take a look at the settings to customize this aspect in a way that is convenient for you.
This will also depend on your Samsung device. Starting with the basics go to Settings >> Notifications. Here you will see a list of installed applications, you just have to indicate which ones will be enabled to show notifications.
Now let's go to Settings >> Lock screen and security >> Notifications. Here you will have to determine what type of notifications they want to be shown on the lock screen, if the content will be hidden, etc.
And let's not forget the status bar. There are some aspects that we can configure, for example, the number of notifications, if we want it to show the icons, among other possibilities.
And if you have, for example, a Galaxy S10, you can activate the Edge lighting to see your notifications. To do this, go to Settings >> Display >> Edge screen >> Edge screen lighting. In this section you can configure when you want this dynamic to be used, type of design, change color, transparency, among other details.
Change screen resolution
Samsung allows some mobiles to change the screen resolution to adapt it to different situations. Although we will prefer the best quality, this is not always the best option if we want to save battery.
So you can check what resolution your mobile has configured (not all have this option) and choose one or the other as you wish, the type of activity, etc. For example, the Galaxy S10 + has HD +, FHD + and WQHD resolution, with the option to change them with a simple touch.
You will find this option in Settings >> Screen >> Screen resolution
Avoid eyestrain with Night Mode
If you are one of those who do not detach from the mobile until late at night it will help you to activate the Night Mode, so as not to tire your eyes so much.
Just go to Display, choose Night Mode and configure the options to adapt it at your own pace. You can activate it manually or set time periods for it to activate automatically.
Set up smart alert so you don't miss calls
Do your friends or your mom complain that you never answer calls? If this is because you are distracted, you can have a little help on your Samsung mobile, which will remind you that you have missed calls.
An option called “Smart Alert” that you will find in Advanced functions >> Movements and gestures. What is your function? It will make the phone vibrate every time you pick it up, notifying that you have an earring to check.

Always track your Samsung location
Find my Mobile is almost a mandatory function to take care of our device in case of theft or that we are too careless.
To activate it, you only need to have a Samsung account registered from your device. Once you do that, activate the Remote controls option. You will find this in Settings >> Lock screen and security >> Find my mobile.
You have some additional features to improve the accuracy of this feature, for example options to activate Google's location service or enable the ability to always send your last location to the server.
And a bonus that you will have if you activate "Find my mobile" is that it will also help you to unlock the device if you have forgotten the password.
