Samsung One UI is one of the most complete layers of Android along with MIUI. Currently Samsung mobile software is in its second version: One UI 2.0. Based on Android 10, the company has introduced a series of functions that complement each other along with the options present in the first iteration. Best of all, most of these functions are available on most Samsung phones: from the Galaxy A50 or Galaxy M20 to the Galaxy S10 and Note 10. This time we have compiled several of the most useful functions of the layer from Samsung. Some somewhat hidden and others not so much.

Duplicate the screen of your mobile on a television
An Android function that most of the time goes missing. In Samsung, this function is called Smart View, and as we have advanced in the title, it allows us to duplicate the phone's screen on a Smart TV.
The requirement for both devices to synchronize with each other is that both must be connected to the same WiFi network. Now we just have to activate the Screen Mirror function on the TV or on Windows or Mac and then activate Smart View on the phone. We can do it by sliding the notification bar down.
When the phone detects the TV, the app will sync automatically. From now on we can see everything that happens on the mobile screen on TV: from applications to videos and games.
Or turn it into a computer with Samsung DeX
If we have a Samsung phone compatible with DeX, we can convert the interface of our device into that of a computer by means of a USB type C cable. Today most high-end mobiles already have this function. We leave you with the complete list:
- Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus
- Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus
- Samsung Galaxy S10, S10e, S10 Plus and S10 5G
- Samsung Galaxy Note 8 and Note 9
- Samsung Galaxy Note 10 and Note 10 Plus
- Samsung Galaxy A80
- Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 and S6
The process is as simple as connecting your phone to a monitor or TV via a USB Type-C to HDMI adapter. The new interface will automatically be activated as if it were a computer operating system.
Lock any application or file with Secure Folder
Have you thought about blocking access to WhatsApp, Instagram or Tinder with a password? Thanks to the Secure Folder function we can protect any file, document, image and even application with a password. Activating it is as simple as sliding the notification bar down and clicking on the homonymous option. Before proceeding, however, we will need to create a Samsung.com account.
Finally we will select all those applications and files that we want to protect. A new folder will automatically be generated within the desktop of the mobile with all the protected content. It is not the most comfortable method but it is the safest.
Automate any action with Bixby Routines
One of the most useful applications for Samsung mobiles. It is an application that allows us to create a series of automations thanks to Bixby, the smart assistant of the South Korean firm. Actions such as lowering the brightness after a certain time, deactivating the WiFi when we leave the house, increasing the volume of the mobile when we open YouTube and a long etcetera.
Within Advanced functions, in Settings, we can find the Routines option. The process is as simple as setting a condition and an action to create your own routine. The good news is that the application already has a series of routines created by Samsung.
Become a living emoji with AR Emoji
The famous Emojis presented by Apple along with the iPhone X have reached Samsung through the Camera application. Just go to the More tab and then to AR Emoji.
Next, the application will show us a set of Emojis created by Samsung. If we want to create our own, we can click on the corresponding icon in the bottom bar of the app. We can also download Emojis directly from the Samsung store. The options are as diverse as they are curious.
Enhance headphone sound with Dolby Atmos
If our Samsung mobile has been certified by Dolby with the Atmos certification, we can make use of this setting to improve the sound of the headphones. Once we have connected the headphones to the phone, we will slide the motivations bar down and click on Dolby.
We can also access this function from the Settings, where we can also adjust the level of improvement according to our preferences: Voice, Video, Music and Automatic. Likewise, we can equalize the sound through the equalizer included within the Settings application.
Control your Samsung mobile from Windows with this trick
Thanks to the agreement between Samsung and Microsoft, the company's terminals are accessible and controllable through computers such as Windows 10 as the base operating system. This function allows us to access the images on the phone. Also to SMS messages and to all those notifications from third-party applications that we receive in real time.
The steps to follow to achieve this synchronization are as simple as clicking on the Windows Connection icon in the quick settings bar and then entering an active Microsoft account. From the Your Phone application we will be able to perform all the actions that we have just mentioned.
Keep the screen on while looking at the phone
We come to the last Samsung One UI function with a feature that came from the hand of the Galaxy S4, back in 2013. Smart Stay is the name of this function. We can activate it through Settings / Advanced functions / Control movements.
From now on the screen will be on as long as we keep an eye on the front camera of the device.
