Print documents and images without third-party applications
MIUI 11 has finally brought Xiaomi mobile compatibility with any WiFi printer without resorting to traditional third-party applications, such as HP, EPSON or Brother, among others.
To print a document or an image from our phone we can use the Gallery or the File Manager application. The way to proceed in any case is the same: by clicking on Share and then on the printer icon on the document or image that we want to print, a printing wizard will be displayed where we can configure the format of the sheets, as well as the number copies, the size or if we want to make a color adjustment (monochrome, color etc.).
Once we have configured the printing correctly, we will select any printer in our environment. Of course, it must be connected to the same WiFi network as the phone.
Share the WiFi password with a QR code
From MIUI 10 Xiaomi allows us to share the password of our WiFi network through a simple QR code. If we have another phone of the same brand, we will only have to scan the code with the MIUI camera.
Within the WiFi section in Settings we will click on the network to which we are connected and then on Share. A QR code will automatically be generated that we can share with any user. In the event that the phone does not have a QR reader, simply download it from the Google store and then paste the text string in the network password.
Duplicate the phone image on a WiFi TV

After having verified that our television has a projection function, it will be enough to go to Settings / Connection and share / Broadcast. After clicking on Cast, the wizard will start searching for televisions connected to the same WiFi network as the phone. When the synchronization is complete, the mobile screen will be broadcast on the TV: from the desktop to the applications and videos.
Password protect apps
A function that has been present in MIUI since the first versions of the system. With the integration of systems such as facial recognition or fingerprint, we can block any application with any of the methods just mentioned.
The way to proceed with this setting is really simple: just access the Applications section within Settings and then Lock applications. Next, a list with all the applications that have been installed on the phone will be displayed.
After having selected the applications that we want to protect with a password, we will only have to register a new lock pattern and use face unlocking or fingerprint recognition. Either method will be valid.
Record calls automatically
MIUI 11 has eliminated the call recording function after almost ten years. If we have a Xiaomi mobile with MIUI 10, activating this option is as simple as going to the Phone application and then clicking on the Menu icon. Then we will go to the Call Recording section until we find the option to Record calls automatically.

Operate the mobile with one hand
Is the screen of your Xiaomi mobile too big? Do not worry. With One-hand Mode we can change the virtual size of the screen to a 3.5, 4 or 4.5 inch panel. How?
In Additional Settings in Settings we will go to the One-handed mode section and activate the homonymous option. After selecting the appropriate screen size, we will slide our finger from the center part of the screen to the extreme right or left at the bottom of the device. For this function to be activated correctly, however, we will have to activate the buttons on the screen: no gesture system or virtual button.
Use your mobile as a remote control
Did you know that you can use your Xiaomi mobile as a remote control? If your mobile has an infrared sensor on the top, it is most likely that it has an application called Mi Remote or Mi Remoto.
The configuration process is really simple: we will only have to select the brand of our television, radio or air conditioning and then press on the touch buttons to check if they work on the device. Finally we will add the device and select it to interact with the device. The range radius is not very high, unfortunately.
Duplicate applications or create a second space for the kids
With the MIUI Dual Applications function we can duplicate applications such as WhatsApp, Facebook or Instagram to make use of them separately if, for example, we have two SIM cards installed in the phone.
Within the Applications section in Settings we can find the option in question. After selecting the applications that we want to be duplicated on the phone, the system will generate two instances of the applications that we have previously indicated: one with our original account and the other with a free account.
Another quite useful function of MIUI consists precisely in creating a second hidden space totally unrelated to our phone to use applications anonymously or to serve as parental control for our children. The function in question is accessible through the Special Functions menu within Settings.
After correctly configuring the alternative space, we can perform actions such as installing applications or capturing photos completely independent of the original space of the phone. In this way we can hide our activity without leaving a trace in the memory of the device. For this reason precisely we will have to create a password independent of the mobile one.
