Instagram is much more than the pretty girl of social media. It has many functions that allow you to customize its dynamics to adapt it to different contexts and enjoy the experience in your own style.
Do you think you know all the secrets of Instagram? Then put yourself to the test with this selection of tricks to get the most out of Instagram on mobile.
Create your own filter kit for posts
Most accounts have a specific style for the photos they share in posts. Some go for pastel colors, others for vintage undertones or a defined color palette. And to achieve these results, they apply their favorite Instagram filters.
But there is a little trick to apply this dynamic without it becoming a headache every time you upload a photo to Instagram: managing the filters. You just have to choose the filters that interest you, rearrange them and hide the rest.
To do this, when you upload a publication choose “Filter” and scroll until the filters end to select the “Manage” option. There you can hide all the filters that you don't use and change the position of the options that are available. That way, applying filters and giving the style that interests you will only take a few seconds.
Remove sound from videos before publishing
If you have recorded a video from Instagram and the sound does not have the quality you want, or you prefer not to hear the ambient noise, you can choose to eliminate it.
But you do not need to resort to a video editor, you can simply use a small option that Instagram provides before publishing. Once you record the video you will see a preview that allows you to apply filters along with the option to disable the sound, as you can see in the image:
Just choose the sound icon to disable it and voila. People watching the video in your post will see a message stating that it has no sound. And of course, this dynamic also applies to any video you upload to Instagram.
A simple way to share any moment on video without worrying about ambient noise.
Automatically block comments using keywords
Instagram has different options for dealing with trolls and offensive comments. You can report them, block them or apply an option to ignore their comments.
The truth is that it is very difficult to follow up on each publication and see if there are unpleasant comments. So a simple way to anticipate this is to activate the automatic blocking of certain comments using certain keywords.
You will find this option in Settings >> Privacy >> Comments. You will see that there are different filters that the Instagram algorithm uses to automatically block offensive comments. However, by activating the Manual Filter you can establish which words are prohibited in the comments of your publications.
You can add words that are used derogatory to offend you or your followers, or terms typical of your region that Instagram does not have classified as insults. This filter will be applied for both new and old comments. A simple way to eliminate insults in your posts and avoid future dislikes.
Remove posts from your profile without deleting them
Maybe you want to get rid of some old Instagram posts but are nostalgic to delete them. Or you don't want your friends to see your ex's photos on your profile, but you don't feel like deleting them yet.
A simple solution for these situations is to use the Archive option. Posts will no longer be available on your profile but they still exist in your account in the Posts Archive.
To do this, you just have to extend the menu of the three dots next to your publication and select Archive. You will see that they disappear as if you had deleted them, but they are hidden within the Archive section along with the Story Archive.
So if you get nostalgic you can go to this section and take a look at the archived posts along with all the comments and interactions that have been generated. And when you want to return them to your profile, you just have to select "Show in profile" from the menu options.
Use frequent phrases to respond faster
If you have to answer the same questions on Instagram posts or just want to respond to the comments of your followers, you can apply this little trick that will save you time: frequent phrases.
Most mobiles have a system to create frequent phrases or save the most used words on the keyboard. For example, in the case of Xiaomi, you just have to open a comment on Instagram and press lightly until "Frequent phrases" appears.
As you see in the image, you create the comment you want and save it to use it at any time. Some Samsung mobiles also offer a similar dynamic that is configured from the Samsung Keyboard configuration in Settings.
And if you can't find this option, don't worry, you can create it using apps like Texpand or Gboard.
Share Spotify songs on Instagram Stories
If you want to share the music you are listening to on Spotify on Instagram you can easily do this with a few simple taps.
You just have to look for the option Share on Spotify (either for a song or an album) and choose "Instagram Stories". This will take you directly to Instagram to add text, colors and all those details that help to personalize the Stories.
Once you post your Stories, your friends will see the song or album you shared with the link to play it on Spotify.
Limit the time you spend on Instagram
If you spend a lot of time on Instagram and cannot detach yourself, then turn to a help that the application provides: set reminders.
These reminders allow you to set a limit on the time you spend on Instagram, which can range from 5 minutes to several hours. When this period of time expires, you will see a message that interrupts your browsing on Instagram. I know, you can easily delete it and follow on Instagram like nothing happened. But if you want to change your habits, this dynamic will serve as a little slap on the wrist.
