Have you updated your Samsung Galaxy mobile and it doesn't work properly? One UI can come up with different problems that largely affect the system (animations, autonomy…). In this article we show you the most common failures and their solution.
First, the most important
If you have a problem on your mobile related to One UI, first you will have to verify that you do not have any new update that covers the mentioned errors. That is, the 'patches' or 'security updates'. To check for new updates, go to Settings> Software update> Download and install. The system will check for new updates.
Coverage issues
Without a doubt, the most common problem in Samsung mobiles. In One UI there are also problems with coverage and it affects even high-end terminals. In this post we detail the possible solutions to this error. The most important: reset network settings. To do this, you just have to go to Settings> General administration> Reset> Reset network settings. Next, click on the button that says 'Reset' and confirm the restart. Please note that resetting network settings will erase all WiFi passwords. As well as paired bluetooth devices and mobile data settings.
Lag in animations
Many users have reported, through different forums, problems with One UI animations. Specifically, cuts and LAGs in animations. This may be normal when you have just updated the terminal, as there are still services and applications installing on the phone. However, if after a few days of continuous cuts in animations, try this to fix it:
Check the battery performance mode: in Settings> Battery> Performance mode. If you want the animations to look completely fluid, it is best to activate the 'optimized' mode. This makes the screen adapt to a high resolution, the brightness is adjusted correctly and we can have a fluid movement. One UI 2 does not adjust the 'High Performance' mode well and this makes animations look choppy.
If the problem persists, it is best to reset to factory settings. To do this, go to Settings> General administration> Reset> Factory reset. This will erase all data on the device, unless you have made a backup. To authorize the reset, it will ask for your device PIN and password for your Samsung account.
The keyboard does not respond
Some users have reported problems with the Samsung keyboard after upgrading to One UI version 1 (with Android 9) or 2 (with Android 10). The main problem is that the keyboard does not respond correctly, hangs and the keys work laggy. This is the solution that some users have provided in the different forums:
- Clear keyboard data: To do this, go to Settings> Applications. Click on the three dots at the top and choose the option that says 'Show system applications'. Then tap Samsung keyboard> Storage> Manage. Storage. Click on 'Clear all data'.
- Factory data reset: in Settings> Reset> factory reset.
Edge screen issues
After upgrading to One UI, some users see a glut of shortcuts to the Edge screen at startup. This problem has a solution, and it is that the failure comes from the installation of an old app, which is no longer necessary in One UI for the Edge screen. The app is called 'One Hand Operation'. To uninstall it, go to Settings> Applications. Find the app and click on the 'Uninstall' button
Dark mode button does not appear
If the dark mode button does not appear in the direct access panel on your Samsung mobile, follow these steps: display the notification panel and click on the three points that appear in the upper area. Next, click where it says 'button order'. A new window will open. The dark mode button will appear in the upper area, drag it towards the gray area to place it in the shortcuts.
Battery problems in Android 9
If you have recently updated to Android 9 or Android 10 on your Samsung mobile, you may be noticing that the battery lasts much less than usual. It seems like this is a common mistake, and the only solution is to wait a few days. Everything indicates that, after the update, the system performs a series of background processes (installations, relocation of files, deletion of the cache…). This causes the system to be constantly running, and therefore the battery goes low.
If after a few days you continue with the problem, you will have to do a factory reset or wait for an update to appear.
Samsung Pay problem on the home screen
A problem that arises with Samsung Pay and One UI gestures: Both functions overlap on the home screen: the tab to access Samsung Pay and the navigation to access the application drawer. This means that in most cases we open Samsung Pay inadvertently, when in fact we want to access the application drawer. To solve this failure, what you have to do is delete the mobile payment tab, since it can be opened even with the screen off.
To do this, we enter the Samsung Pay app. Click on start and display the side menu. Next, we access the Settings icon, which is next to our profile image. In the option 'Payment', click where it says 'Quick access '. Finally, we uncheck the box that says 'Home screen'. Now the tab will not appear on the home screen and we can use the gestures.
