The Samsung Galaxy S8 + is already, together with its brother the Samsung Galaxy S8, a reality. The new Korean smartphone has been officially presented, with the aim of replacing the one that until now was in a position of reign: the Samsung Galaxy S7 edge.
Like every new edition, the Korean firm Samsung has decided to introduce substantial improvements. Some of the most important have to do with the democratization of curved screens (now the two S8 models feature a panel of these features). But also with the size and of course, with the potential and its exclusive functions.
If you want to buy the new Samsung Galaxy S8 +, but you do not know very well why improvements and news you should take the step, here is the answer. These are the 7 novelties of the Galaxy S8 Plus compared to the Samsung Galaxy S7 edge.
The Samsung Galaxy S8 + comes with a huge 6.2-inch screen
1. 6.2 inch screen
One of the biggest changes from the previous Samsung Galaxy S7 edge is undoubtedly the size of the screen. For the occasion, the Samsung Galaxy S8 + is presented equipped with a Super AMOLED panel with an 18.5: 9 aspect ratio.
It has dimensions of 6.2 inches that exceed the 5.5 inches of the previous model. The resolution increases, going to a QHD + of 2,960 x 1,440 pixels. This ends up giving a density of 529 dots per inch. In addition, this screen comes with Corning Gorilla 5 protection against bumps and scratches.
2. Frames disappear
Between the Samsung Galaxy S7 edge and the Samsung Galaxy S8 +, Samsung has taken a fundamental step: saying goodbye to the frames, both lower and higher. This will allow users to enjoy a much larger main screen: 6.2 inches that are integrated in a much smaller space than any tablet would offer.
3. Goodbye to the start button
As the frames disappear, so does the home button. So the fingerprint sensor changes location. The reader, for the first time in the history of Samsung, is installed at the back of the computer. It is right next to the main camera. The result? More space in the front for the screen.
Includes iris reader, but also facial recognition.
4. Hello iris reader
The front of the phone is not without sensors. At the top we find an iris sensor located, with which users can identify themselves in a more comfortable and secure way.
This reader, which was already present in the Samsung Galaxy Note 7, is responsible for reading our iris to identify the pattern and unlock the mobile. This system is accompanied by a facial recognition system that will also help us to perform certain functions.
5. Bixby, a new smart assistant
One of the great novelties of this new generation of Samsung Galaxy S8 is, without a doubt, Bixby. That's how Samsung has christened the new intelligent assistant Troupe to. The system is much more sophisticated in operation than S Voice. Users will be able to use it with a more natural language and ask you to help us perform certain functions or tasks.
It will help us to run applications, but also to identify objects and offer us information about stores where we can find the product. At the moment, Bixby will only speak in English and Korean, but it is expected to be available in many other languages soon. One of them is Spanish.
6. More power
Power is one of the great keys to this Samsung Galaxy S8 +. The equipment is presented with a new Exynos 64-bit 10nm processor. We do not know the version number yet, but it is clear that it is much more powerful. There are 8 cores: four running at 2.3 GHz and another four at 1.7 GHz. Samsung itself claims that this new processor can run 10 percent faster than its predecessors.
This chip combines its performance with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal memory, double the storage capacity that the S7 edge offered us.
7. A new selfie camera
And we end with another important novelty. The front camera of the Samsung Galaxy S8 +. The device has been unveiled with a 12-megapixel dual camera system, located at the rear. But where the S8 + really improves is in the front camera.
The front sensor is 8 megapixels (instead of 5) and has an aperture f / 1.7. Improvement in the machinery part, but also in the software. Now there are more editing options, stickers and other effects to beautify our faces.
