Although the blockade by the United States Government is still in force, the Chinese firm continues its natural course when it comes to mobile phone launches. Months ago Huawei launched the Nova 5T, the company's latest mobile with Google Services. Now the company launches the Huawei Nova 6 and Nova 6 5G, two very similar terminals whose only differences are limited to the implementation of a 5G module in the top model and a larger battery. Today neither of the two devices are certified by Google. Will they be enough to conquer an already saturated market?

Design: a Huawei P30 Pro without a notch
We are not going to deny it, the design of the two terminals inevitably reminds us of the Huawei P30 Pro. The back not only has the same gradient colors, but also the same distribution of elements.
If we move to the front, here the differences are more noticeable. The notch is now located on one of the sides in the form of an island, and the fingerprint sensor is moved to one of the sides. Another difference that it keeps with the P30 Pro is found precisely in its screen: 6.57 inches with IPS technology.
The ratio is also longer (20: 9, in particular), although the Nova 6 5G is heavier and wider than its smaller brother due to the fact that it integrates a slightly higher battery. The difference is not small: almost 30 grams more and 0.3 millimeters thick.
Five cameras to conquer them all
Huawei wanted to focus part of its effort on the photographic section of the new iteration of the Nova series. Three cameras in the back and two in the front is the configuration that makes up both terminals. The differences, in fact, are nil: 40 megapixel main sensor, 8 megapixel secondary sensor with three-magnification zoom and tertiary sensor with ultra-wide angle lens and the same resolution as the secondary sensor.
If we move to the front, the two phones use two 32-megapixel and 8-megapixel sensors. The latter drinks from a 105º wide angle lens, competing directly with Samsung's bet with the Galaxy S10 Plus.
The DxOMark study, however, gives the winner to Huawei's bet, with a score of 100 in the selfie cameras of the Nova 6 and Nova 6 5G: the highest at present, proclaiming themselves as the best phones for selfies today..
Without Google Services but with the power to give and give
Again the terminals of the Chinese firm go back to the stadium without Google certification. As was the case with the Huawei Mate 30 and 30 Pro, although both have Android 10 under the EMUI chassis in version 10.0, none of the terminals will have, at least officially, Google applications.
When it comes to the hardware of the Nova 6 and Nova 6 5G, the company has not wanted to leave anything in the pipeline. Both have Huawei's latest processor, the Kirin 990, and both have 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage along with a liquid cooling system. The Nova 6 5G also adds a version with 256 GB, in addition to the next-generation 5G connectivity compatible with SA networks.
The latter also integrates a larger battery; specifically, 4,200 mAh compared to the 4,100 mAh of the Nova 6. Both are compatible with Huawei's 40 W fast charge, and both have the same connectivity string: Bluetooth 5.1, WiFi and Dual GPS, USB type C 3.1, NFC and so on.
Price and availability of the Huawei Nova 6 and Nova 6 5G in Spain
Few are the data that we have on the availability of the two devices in Europe and the rest of the world. Against all odds, it is very likely that they will end up arriving from the first half of 2020. The exchange price in euros leaves us with the following route time:
- Huawei Nova 6 with 8 and 128 GB: 410 euros to change
- Huawei Nova 6 5G with 8 and 128 GB: 490 euros to change
- Huawei Nova 6 5G with 8 and 256GB: 540 euros to change
