Spotify is sure to be, along with WhatsApp, one of the applications that you first install when you change mobile. It is a very popular application and has millions of subscribers around the world. This music streaming platform allows us to access millions of songs with just a couple of taps. In addition, it is compatible with practically all the devices that exist in the market. So it's normal for so many people to use it.
And although its use is quite simple, like almost any application of a certain level, it has a series of hidden tricks with which we can get the most out of the application. So here we bring you 5 tricks of the Spotify mobile application that will help you get the most out of this music service.
Learn more about the song and even the lyrics of it
Most of us use Spotify simply to listen to music. But it is possible that while listening to a song you have some kind of curiosity about it. If so, you don't have to log out of Spotify to find out about that song.
All we have to do is click on " Behind the lyrics ", located on the song playback screen. This uses the Genius web to display curious information about the song that is playing. The lyrics also appear from time to time. It even shows a shortcut to a page with the full lyrics and more information about the song.
Of course, this functionality is not available in all songs. In fact, the truth is that there are very few songs in which it appears. In addition, the information is in English. But it is certainly a quick way to find out details about the songs that are playing.
Play with the highest audio quality
If you use the free version of Spotify you will have to settle for the default audio quality offered by the application. But if you are premium you can select to reproduce with a higher quality, something very useful if, for example, you are going to send the audio to an external speaker.
To do this, all you have to do is enter the Settings of the application, clicking on the gear in the upper left. Once here, look for the Music quality option, where you will see a section for Streaming and another for Downloads.
By default it is set to Automatic and Normal, respectively. We can change it to High or Very High. But we must bear in mind that the higher the audio quality, the more data it consumes. If we are on WiFi there is no problem, but if we are consuming data from our mobile rate we must take it into account.
As you can imagine, you can use this option precisely to save data. If you set the streaming quality to Low, you will save data when playing with a mobile connection.
Private mode
Spotify has a certain social component. If you enter your profile you can see the followers you have (or who have your playlist) and those you are following. In addition, from the application itself we can find friends who are using it or share the music with whoever we want.
But it is possible that at some point you will look for the opposite. Perhaps because you are ashamed to listen to a certain song that you said you would never hear.
If you don't want your friends to see what you're listening to at a certain moment, you can use the Private Mode that Spotify has. To do this we have to enter Settings and in the Social section you will find an option called "Private session". If you activate it, you will be able to listen to music anonymously, so no one will be able to see that you have listened to that song that you are so ashamed of.
Sort the songs to your liking with the play queue
If you use the free version of Spotify you will have to listen to the albums or playlists in random order, there is no other option. But if you are premium, you can select how to listen to your favorite music. You can even listen to a playlist and even an official album in the order you like the most.
To achieve this you will have to use the Play Queue. When you are playing any song, in the upper right corner you will see the typical icon with the three vertical dots. By pressing it you will have three options: Random, Repeat and "Go to the queue". If you click on the latter you will access the playback queue.
In this section you can add songs and change the order in which they will be played. Also, if you are listening to a playlist or an album and there is a song that you do not like, from here you can select it and remove it from the playback queue. This does not remove it from either the playlist or the album, it just stops it from playing.
Use Spotify as an alarm clock
Did you know that you can use any Spotify song as an alarm clock? It is a trick that we can do on Android phones. Of course, we will need to have the Google Clock application installed or installed.
Once installed, if you didn't already have it, open the Google Clock application and go to the Alarm section. When creating a new one, the application itself reminds us that it now has the option to use Spotify music as an alarm clock.
If we click on the Alarm Sound option, at the top we will see three options: Sounds, YouTube Music and Spotify. We click on Spotify and, if we have never done it, it will ask us to connect with our streaming service account. We click on Connect, in the lower right part, and we accept the terms.
Once here we will see a selection of ideal songs to wake up. But we also have an option to Search for the one we want. Perhaps the most tempting thing is to choose our favorite song, but it may not be a great idea, since we could end up catching it.
And here are these 5 tricks that will help you get the most out of the Spotify mobile application. Do you know any cool tips for the most popular music streaming service? Tell us in comments.
