Throughout the months we have seen how mobile phones are becoming more and more like each other. Many manufacturers decide to be 'inspired' by the design of the latest iPhone or the latest Huawei mobile. But this year we have also seen mobiles that are out of the ordinary, which are not the classic terminal with its 'drop type' notch in the upper area, with its 6.1-inch screen and its triple or quadruple camera. These are the 5 strangest mobiles that we can buy like any other.
Samsung Galaxy Fold
You probably already know this mobile. It is one of the highlights of this year, and also one of the strangest. Mainly for its concept: it is a folding phone, with a flexible OLED screen that has a diagonal of 7 inches. The Samsung Galaxy Fold was announced at the beginning of 2019, but it was not until November that it began to be sold in Spain. Its price? of 2020 euros.
When folded, the mobile has a small 4.5-inch screen, where we can navigate the interface, open applications, answer calls or even play games. It's like any Android phone, but with a more compact screen than you may be used to, and with much more pronounced bezels. When the terminal is opened, it reveals the flexible 7.3-inch OLED screen with WQHD + resolution. There are hardly any frames here, except for a notch in the upper right area that is somewhat more pronounced than usual, since it houses 3 cameras.
In terms of performance, we find an eight-core Exynos processor, the same one used by the Samsung Galaxy S10. In this case with 12 GB of RAM. Also gutter with two batteries, one on each side of the screen. These are 2,190 mAh, for a total of 4,380 mAh.
Alcatel 3088X
A terminal that is out of the ordinary in 2019: this Alcatel 3088X. The company belonging to TCL has in its catalog a classic terminal, with buttons and a very compact screen. In Tuexperto we have already been able to test this device, and it is a very good option for older people who do not want a smartphone with a large screen, but a mobile that includes applications such as WhatsApp or an email manager. This Alcatel 3088X has up to YouTube, so we can watch videos on its small 2.4-inch screen.
The price of this mobile is 55 euros. It has a SC9820E processor with 512 MB of RAM and 4 GB of internal memory to store photos or audio files. It does not have a PlayStore, but we do find some apps from Google and other companies per-installed and on the system. Among them, YouTube, Google Maps, WhatsApp, Facebook, Google Search or even Google Assistant, to perform voice commands through the central button. Of course, the operating system, KaiOS, has a small application store.
It also has FM Radio and allows 4G connections. The battery is replaceable and has a capacity of 1,530 mAh.
Blackview max 1
How many times have you seen a mobile with a projector? The truth is that some manufacturers have already launched smartphone models with a built-in projector. One that can be bought on Amazon is this BlacView Max 1. It is a conventional mobile, with mid-range specifications. In this case with a somewhat more pronounced design, since in the upper area a projector is added that allows us to expand up to 70 inches on a wall 2 meters away and watch videos in Full HD resolution. The terminal has a support to support it on a flat surface and start projecting. In addition, an application is included through the software to be able to manage different parameters of the projector, such as orientation or focus.
As for the specifications, this device has an eight-core MediaTek MT6763T processor, and it is accompanied with 6 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage. The terminal has a 6.1-inch screen in Full HD + resolution. It is a panel with AMOLED technology. It has a single 16-megapixel main camera, as well as a front lens of this same resolution.

DOOGEE S90 Pro
Let's go with one of the most interesting on the list, the DOOGEE S90 Pro. This terminal combines two strange features in a mobile. On the one hand, it is a resistant terminal, with protection against falls and a resistance certification that we do not usually see in other terminals. On the other, it is a mobile with a modular concept.
This manufacturer sells different versions of this S90 Pro. On the one hand, we have the normal version, which although it includes the pins on the back to connect the modules, does not come standard with any, and we will have to buy them separately. Somewhat complicated because they are difficult to find. This version is cheaper, with a price of 350 euros. It has a design resistant to falls, since it is built in titanium alloy and high and low temperatures. Plus, it's IP69K certified, what do you mean? It is the highest degree of resistance to water and dust that exists. This means that it resists high pressure water jets for a few minutes. Of course, it is resistant to water and dust.
The Super model is also just as resistant. Of course, it is more expensive, since it includes up to three modules that can be attached to the rear to perform different functions. For example, we have a Walkie-talkie module, another that adds more battery to the terminal and an accessory that allows us to add a night vision camera. In this case the terminal costs 445 euros.
On specs, the DOOGEE S9 Pro features an eight-core MediaTek Helio P60 processor. It is accompanied with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage, which is also expandable via micro SD. Its battery is 5,000 mAh. The screen is 6.18 inches with Full HD + resolution.
LG G8X ThinQ
We could say that it is the most normal model of the five, but with a very different and curious characteristic. At first glance, the LG G8X is a normal mid-range / high-end terminal: it has a Snapdragon 855 processor, 6 GB of RAM, a triple camera on the rear and a 6.4-inch screen with Full HD + resolution.
Things change when we connect its second screen, an accessory that is attached through some pins located at the back and that allows us to use the terminal as if it were a folding mobile. With the second screen on the LG G8X ThinQ we can open two apps at the same time: one on the left and one on the right. Also expand the content. For example, watch a YouTube video and occupy both screens. LG also allows you to use this second panel as a joistick for games.
