The renewal of the Samsung A-range has arrived full of surprises. The company has unveiled an Infinity-O Display on the new Samsung Galaxy A8s. This means that the terminal, unlike its predecessor, the Samsung Galaxy A8, breaks into the market with a panel with almost no frames and with a small hole in the upper left to house the front sensor. The South Korean thus inaugurates this type of panel that will give a lot to talk about over the next year.
We can say that the terminal improves in many aspects to the previous model. We found quite a few differences, and not just on the screen. The device now has a triple main camera, more storage, as well as an improved processor and RAM of up to 8 GB. Likewise, it also has a higher capacity battery and Android 8 system together with the customization layer of the Samsung Experience company. If you are interested in knowing the five main differences between the Galaxy A8 and A8s, do not stop reading. We summarize them below.

1. Display
The main difference between the Samsung Galaxy A8 and the Galaxy A8s is found on the screen. The new model radically changes the design, making the panel the complete protagonist. To further reduce the bezels, the company has included a tiny hole in the upper left in which the front camera has been placed. It's what the company has called the Infinity-O Display. The reduction of frames is noticeable between one model and another. However, we can still see small black borders surrounding the screen.
At the size level, there are also improvements. The Galaxy A8 landed earlier in the year with a 5.6-inch Super AMOLED panel, 2,220 x 1,080 pixel FullHD, and an 18.5: 9 aspect ratio. The A8s now offers a 6.4-inch one with Full HD + resolution and an aspect ratio of 19.5: 9.
2. Processor and memory
How could it be otherwise, the Galaxy A8s also has improved performance, in which special emphasis must be placed on RAM and storage. And this new model is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 SoC along with 6 or 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of space (expandable by microSD up to 512 GB). The A8, meanwhile, houses an Exynos 7885 accompanied by 4 GB of RAM. It is a set that is not bad for the mid-range, but with the new launch it has been relegated to the background. In your case, the storage is limited to 32 GB, although it is also possible to expand it with microSD cards of up to 256 GB.

3. Photographic section
Another important difference is related to the photographic section. The Samsung Galaxy A8 stood out at the time for its double 16 and 8 megapixel front camera. On this occasion, Samsung has not included a dual sensor. The A8s has a single camera for selfies, although it has a resolution of 24 megapixels. However, what the company has noticeably improved is the main sensor. We no longer see a single camera on the rear. Samsung has added three sensors this time. The main one is 24 megapixels and offers an aperture f / 1.7. This is accompanied by a second sensor, in charge of depth, which has a resolution of 5 megapixels and aperture f / 2.2. The set is completed by a third 10-megapixel sensor responsible for taking photos with a wide angle.

4. Battery
Samsung has provided the Galaxy A8s with a higher capacity battery. If the Galaxy A8 was placed on the market with a 3,000 mAh (with fast charge), the A8s now boasts a 3,400 mAh, which we imagine will give a few more hours of use. However, the times are very relative and, logically, are closely related to the established configuration. In our tests, the Galaxy A8 endured the entire day without problems using games, GPS and various applications.

5. Operating system
Finally, the Samsung Galaxy A8s comes standard with Android 8.0 Oreo along with the customization layer of the company Samsung Experience. The A8 did the same at the time with Android 7 along with Samsung Touchwiz, although it can now be updated to Oreo. We hope that both are candidates to update to Android 9 Pie when the time comes.
