OnePlus has released new mobiles, among which is the OnePlus 7. The device maintains the essence of the OnePlus 6T, launched several months ago, retaining part of the design, battery or front sensor. However, the family has evolved, something that can be appreciated at the level of power and photographic section. It is evident that the company has wanted to polish some weak points of the 6T model to create a better prepared terminal, capable of competing with some heavyweights in the sector.

If you want to know the 5 main differences between both devices, do not stop reading. These are.

1. Design

Although the design of the OnePlus 7 is practically the same as the OnePlus 6T, we did find some minimal changes. The company has kept the glass and metal chassis with a main panel, which does not lack a small notch or notch in the form of a drop of water. However, the dimensions vary from one model to another. The OnePlus 7 weighs three grams less and is 0.2 mm longer than its older brother, something practically unnoticeable. Of course, the company has emphasized that this new generation has treated the rear curvature looking for better ergonomics for the user.

OnePlus 6T

If we look at its rear, changes are also appreciated. The main camera takes up a little more space in a vertical position, since now the LED flash is framed within the same place. In addition, the company logo has been refined, giving it greater prominence.

2. Photographic section

The OnePlus 7 raises the photographic section and adds more megapixels to the main sensor. The new model again includes a double camera. This time it is made up of a 48 megapixel Sony IMX586 sensor, which makes use of the Pixel Binning technique, in charge of grouping 1/4 megapixels to achieve a final resolution of 12 megapixels. Of course, the second sensor loses resolution, and goes from 20 megapixels of the previous generation to 5 megapixels.

It should be noted that the company has improved image processing and has opted for a new algorithm called Ultrashot. In this way, improvements in HDR + or in data collection with photos are expected. For the rest, the OnePlus 7 has the same 16 megapixel front sensor and f / 2.0 focal aperture as the OnePlus 6T.

OnePlus 6T

3. Performance

How could it be otherwise, the new OnePlus 7 improves performance over the 6T. Specifically, it is powered by a Snapdragon 855, built in a 7nm process. This gives it the possibility of being more efficient at the energy level, thus achieving better performance. The architecture is still formed in the same way as in the Snapdragon 845 processor of the OnePlus 6T: eight cores, although in this case the maximum frequency has grown a bit, from 2.8 GHz to 2.84 GHz.

Also, the RAM memory is once again 6 and 8 GB, depending on the version, with LPDDR4X technology. In any case, the company has ensured that RAM management has been improved. This is what they have called "RAM Boost", an intelligent system that adapts the consumption of RAM depending on the use we give the device. On the other hand, the OnePlus 7 again offers a storage of 128 and 256 GB, but inaugurates the UFS 3.0 standard. This means that the OnePlus 7 becomes the first Android mobile in the world to be sold with this technology along with the Samsung Galaxy Fold, although it is not yet marketed.

4. Sound

One of the biggest user criticisms of the OnePlus brand is related to sound. Regulars of the brand often complain that the terminals do not have the same audio quality as many current high-end ranges. This has led the company to improve this section in the OnePlus 7, which now comes with a double front speaker. This allows you to emit a sound in stereo, providing a higher quality when playing music or watching videos.

The first speaker has been placed at the front of the terminal. The second, at the bottom, which is the usual location. In addition, the sound includes Dolby technology, which always provides a plus in order to improve the definition by avoiding distortions.

OnePlus 6T

5. Price

Given that the OnePlus 7 offers some improvements over the 6T, how normal it is is noticeable in the price, although this is not the case at the moment. Currently, the OnePlus 6T is sold in three versions with different prices.

  • OnePlus 6T 8 GB + 128 GB: 580 euros
  • OnePlus 6T 8 GB + 256 GB: 630 euros
  • OnePlus 6T 6 GB + 128 GB: 550 euros

OnePlus 7

The OnePlus 7 will go on sale soon with very similar prices, lower in the version with 8 GB + 256 GB.

  • OnePlus 7 6 GB + 128 GB: 560 euros
  • OnePlus 7 8 GB + 256 GB: 610 euros

We imagine that once it goes on sale, the company will lower the prices of the OnePlus 6T, so it would be a good time to consider buying it. Although if the difference is not too exaggerated, perhaps it would be better to have the OnePlus 7. At the end of the day it has improved in some important sections, such as performance, memory or photographic section (as long as you are not obsessed with bokeh photos, since the second main sensor comes with fewer megapixels).
