Samsung announced that the Galaxy A51 became the best-selling Android mobile in the world, according to data shared by Strategy Analytics for the first quarter of 2020. A statistic that confirms that it may be a good choice if you are thinking of renewing your mobile.
However, the choice may be complicated considering that the new Samsung Galaxy A21s has already landed in Spanish territory. Which one is better for you? To make your decision easier, we show you what are the main differences between the Samsung Galaxy A21s and the Galaxy A51.
Design, almost imperceptible changes except for one detail
If you are looking for big differences in the design to help you decide, you will not find it. The two models follow the design line of the new Galaxy models.
Both feature a full-frontal glass display, rounded corners, and a glass-like plastic finish. Perhaps the rear module of the cameras takes away that premium feel of the design, although the geometric patterns of the Galaxy A51 achieve more prominence, and the bright colors of the A21s automatically capture the attention.
The Galaxy A21s has slightly larger dimensions with a weight of 192 grams, as opposed to 172 grams for the other model. However, both are compact, so they will be comfortable in your hand. Perhaps something that will make a difference for you is that this latest model has the fingerprint sensor on the back. And the location of the front camera is also a difference that you will notice at the first glance.
The Galaxy A51 comes in three colors (black, green and white), and the A21s offers you a range of four bright colors (white, black, red and blue).
Same screen size, different technology
The new Galaxy models are designed for generation Z, so all its features are focused on the user enjoying longer and better creating or viewing multimedia content. You know, YouTube videos, streaming platforms, different formats of multimedia content from social networks, etc.
One aspect that can be seen in the size and quality of the screen, and this is where the first significant difference begins. Both have a 6.5-inch Infinity-O display, but while the Samsung Galaxy A51 has a Super AMOLED FullHD + display (1080 x 2400 pixels), the Galaxy A21 has a TFT LCD HD + display (1600 x 720 pixels).
In the case of the Galaxy A51 you will find the fingerprint sensor under the screen, while the Galaxy A21s is committed to incorporating it on the back. And as you can see, the two models have said goodbye to the drop-shaped notch and opt for a hole in the screen for the front camera.
Processor and memory, different settings and power
This is an essential section that must be reviewed with a magnifying glass before deciding on a mobile. And these new Galaxy models are no exception.
The Galaxy A51 has Exynos 9611, Samsung's processor for the mid-range. And if we put it in context with the rest of the configuration, we have a processor with Octa-Core (2.3GHz, 1.7GHz) with versions of 4/6 GB of RAM and 64/128 GB of storage, with the possibility of expanding it up to 512 GB.
While it is an interesting configuration, the power can be limited in some situations, for example, when running games like Call od Dutty. On the other hand, the Galaxy A21 boasts the new Exynos 850 processor (Octa-core at 2 GHz), 4GB of RAm and 64 GB of storage, expandable up to 512 GB.
If you want more autonomy, the chosen one is…
Battery life is usually one of the first details we evaluate when we choose a new mobile. Although it must be recognized that the new models come with increasingly powerful batteries.
The Samsung Galaxy A51 battery is 4000 mAh, and it can offer a range of up to 20 hours of video playback, 32 hours of talk mode and about 16 hours of internet. And the plus of the fast charge of 15w.
And the Galaxy A21s offers a 5000 mAh battery with 15W fast charging. And put in numbers, this would represent about 23 hours of 4G or Wi-Fi internet use, 54 talk mode and 21 hours of video playback.
Photographic section, a clear winner
If the key factor to decide on one or the other Galaxy model is the photographic section, pay attention to the configuration of each one.
The Galaxy A51 has a 32-megapixel front camera and four rear cameras. A main sensor of 48 MP (f / 2.0), an ultra wide angle of 12 MP (f / 2.4) and two of 5 MP as a depth camera (f / 2.2) and macro (f / 2.4).
Galaxy A21s has a 13 megapixel front camera, and also four rear ones, but with a different configuration: 48 MP main sensor (f / 2.2), 8 MP ultra wide angle (f / 2.2) and two 2 megapixels with f /2.4 for macro and depth, as you see in the image.
Conclusions and prices
If up to here you are complicated about the model you are going to buy, the price will not help too much taking into account the characteristics that we mentioned.
Right now, the Galaxy A51 is priced at 299 euros in the Samsung store, although you can apply a promo code to get a discount. And the Galaxy A21s, a price of 229 euros, although take into account the final configuration of each one.
