On October 3, LG plans to present the new LG V40 ThinQ in New York. It will be the new high-end of the company. The device would follow the line of its predecessor, the LG V30, although with improved features, as is usual in a generational leap of this type. From what we know, the new terminal would have a triple rear camera (instead of double), an improved panel: 6.4-inch P-OLED with QuadHD + resolution, as well as a Snapdragon 845 processor. The memory would grow to 6 GB, while storage and battery would remain at 64 GB or 128 GB and 3,300 mAh. If you want to know the most outstanding changes of the LG V40 ThinQ with respect to the LG V30, do not stop reading. We reveal the five most important ones.
Larger notched display
If the LG V30 came with a 6-inch OLED screen with a QuadHD + resolution of 2,880 x 1,440 pixels, the LG V40 ThinQ would maintain the same resolution, but would increase the panel and technology. The new device is expected with a size of 6.4 inches and P-OLED technology (very similar to the one included in the Samsung Galaxy Note 9). This means that we would enjoy a better quality when viewing images or videos.
At the design level we would also find some changes. The V40 ThinQ would have a notch or notch on its front. This is how the latest leaked renders reveal them. This would have a small size and would collect the two sensors of the front camera. Broadly speaking, the new model would be very similar to its older brother. It would land with rounded edges, really slim bezels, and a slim profile.
More power and performance
The LG V30 houses inside a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, an eight-core chip at a speed of 2.45 GHz. Logically, the new generation is expected with a more efficient SoC, typical of a high-end 2018-2019. Specifically, rumors claim that it will be powered by a Snapdragon 845, Qualcomm's latest beast manufactured in 10 nanometers. This new generation of processors consume less resources and energy, theoretically 15%. In any case, we still have to put this into question, since it is something that we will have to test in due course, 15% less.
RAM would grow
Similarly, the new LG V40 ThinQ would offer a larger RAM. From 4 GB we would go to 6 GB together with a storage capacity of 64 or 128 GB. The latter seems to remain the same, although, as in the previous generation, with the possibility of increasing it through the use of microSD cards.
Five cameras instead of three
The latest rumors ensure that the LG V40 ThinQ would have an innovative photographic section. It would be the first mobile device to have five cameras (three on the back and two on the front). The triple camera would have a resolution of 12 megapixels f / 1.5 + 16 MP f / 1.9 with wide angle + 12 MP f / 2.4 with optical zoom. For selfies, we could use two 8 + 5 megapixel sensors.
Android 9 Pie
Finally, another of the improvements and changes that we expect in the LG V40 ThinQ with respect to the LG V30 is related to the operating system. The new high-end model of the South Korean would come standard with Android 9 Pie, the latest version of Google's mobile platform. It must be remembered that its predecessor did it at the time with Android 7.1.2 Nougat, although it can be updated to Android 8 Nougat for some time and we hope that it will do the same when the time comes to Android 9.
