It is increasingly common to use the mobile to read our favorite books. The large screen that most of them carry, many reaching 6 inches, favor the use of the mobile as an electronic book, although reading is not among its main uses. Just as we use it to read news, web pages or blogs, what prevents us from using it, too, to download the books we want and read them from your screen?
To read books comfortably from the screen of our phone we need tools that make this task possible, that can open the files that house electronic books and provide us with the necessary support so that we can complete our reading successfully. Of course, for this we are going to enter the Google Play Store and choose the five best applications to read books to celebrate Book Day that takes place today, April 23. You don't have to do anything, we've done the dirty work for you. You just worry about reading what the applications are about and choosing the one that best suits your needs.
Readera
We are going with the first of the applications to read books on an Android mobile with Readera. The best thing about this application is that it is ad-free, has no purchases inside, and is very intuitive to use. The first thing we are going to see as soon as we open the application is a screen where all the documents that we have downloaded to our mobile appear. Not just books, so you shouldn't be surprised to see some PDFs among them. To start reading the book you just have to click on the cover. If we give a simple touch on the page, a top bar will open in which we can place a bookmark with a title, see the contents of the book in question, access the book settings to choose font size, line spacing, alignment, margins and a three-point menu in which you can choose to write a review of the book in question, share it, add it to a collection or send it to the trash. In the upper bar we will see where we are going and how much we have to read until we reach the end of the book.

eBoox
We now go with another of the most popular reading applications of the entire Play Store. Its name is eBoox and it contains as an incentive some pre-installed books but, unfortunately, they are in English. They are classics of literature such as 'Pride and Prejudice' or 'The Lost World', being able to take advantage to practice that English that we need so much. Without getting distracted from our main task, the first thing that appears when opening eBoox is a message that tells us if we want to add the books that we have in the download folder of our mobile. We say 'yes' and they will automatically appear before our eyes. As in the previous application, by clicking once on the page of the book we will access different configurations such as font size, night mode and text justification. The main screen is divided into 'books' and 'bookshelves'. In the latter you will see the collection of books you have, being able to create different collections to have the books in better order.

eReader Prestige
The first thing we have to do as soon as we open this application is to synchronize the books that we have downloaded to our mobile, selecting the files that refer to electronic books and discarding others such as MP3, AAC. M4B or ZIP. We press the confirmation button and the automatic scan will begin. We also recommend deactivating the TXT file because the system itself houses many documents with that extension and it is rare that we are going to find books with it. We recommend leaving only EPUB and PDF enabled. Once the book is opened and by pressing once on the sheet, we find, at the top, a practical bar to increase the brightness, an option to convert the book into an audiobook, the typical options to change the font and the reading mode, a handy book index and a word search option within it, very handy when the book has many characters.

Moon + Reader
We are lining up the exit box with 'Moon + Reader', another reading application highly valued by Google Play Store users. The first thing we are going to see is the option to buy the paid version of the application, which has a price of 5.50 euros. We focus on the free version. The first thing we have to do is import the books by clicking on the side menu and clicking on 'files', then going to the folder where we have them. As a curiosity, this application contains preloaded Lewis Carroll's novel 'Alice in Wonderland' in Spanish.

Pocketbook Reader
We end our tour of the best applications to read on mobile with Pocketbook Reader. Once opened, the application automatically detects the books we have inside the phone. By clicking on one, the reading begins, in a menu quite different from what is customary since it appears in the shape of a circle. We have all the usual suspects here: audio description of the book, multiple underlining and note-taking tools, font size, reading modeā¦ Pocketbook Reader is one of the best bets both by design and functions and the best of all is that it's free and has no ads.
