If there is something that really matters to mobile phone users, it is all about the battery. A phone will be able to take better or worse photos, play powerful games or simply dedicate its processor to simple puzzles; its performance may be more or less fluid, more or less fast… But when it comes down to it, the general public simply needs a phone that lasts. That we can use it all day, on the street, without having to charge with external batteries or with the cable and charger on top. The only thing left for many of us is to save battery.
The arrival of fast charging has been a relief: having the phone with 50% more battery in just half an hour of charging is something that makes our lives much easier. However, there are telephones that do not have it. And if they have, we are still in the same: sometimes there is no desire to carry the cable and charger with you. That is why you have to sharpen your ingenuity and look, among the phone settings, for some tricks to save battery. Today we propose five of them, so you can earn a peak to the battery percentage.
Disable geolocation or location
There are applications that need to be connected to GPS. For example, if we want our phone to help us get home. As long as we do not use Google Maps, however, we will be able to disable location without problems. At what other times do we need to be located? Think about it and see if it is worth disabling the GPS. If so, you can do it as follows:
We are going to go to the settings application on our phone. You can identify it because its icon is usually in the shape of a gear. Once we click on the gear, we go to the 'Personal' section and, from here, to 'Location'. You must make sure that the switch is set to 'No' so that it is completely deactivated. If you don't want to completely disable GPS, you can set the mode to 'Battery saving'.
Adjust automatic brightness
Let your phone decide how bright you need, depending on the light hitting the screen. The phone has a sensor that changes according to the environment, so that it never receives too much brightness, with the consequent waste. To adjust the brightness in automatic mode, unfold the notification curtain and, in the direct settings, press the icon of 'A' in a sun. You will see how, instantly, the bar adjusts itself.
Restrict background data usage
With this trick, you will prevent an app from consuming more data, with the expense that this entails, as well as less energy. To do this, you must enter the settings and then Data usage. On this screen you will see, in a list, the applications that have had the most consumption in your case. To restrict the use of data in the background, click on the app. On this screen, you should see something like 'Restrict background data usage' or 'Unrestricted data usage'. Be careful with restricting the use of data from applications such as WhatsApp (messages will not reach you when you are using data) or Play Store.
Disable WiFi network scanning
If you don't deactivate this option, the phone will continually search for WiFi networks to connect to. If you want to avoid this waste of battery, enter the WiFi settings. Now, you have to disable the scan. This option can be in the three-dot bar in 'Advanced settings' or on the screen where all networks appear.
Disable backup
If you don't need a backup on your phone, you can disable this option. By leaving it active, the phone continuously adds new elements to this copy, thus wasting the battery. To do this, go to Settings> System> Backup and restore. In 'Copy my data' make sure you check 'No'. In this simple way you can save battery life on Android.
So now you know, if you want to save battery on your Android phone you just have to follow these simple tricks.
