At the current point of technology, most phone manufacturers have created a quick and agile customization layer for their different devices. Unfortunately, this is not always the case. When the device in question accumulates dozens of applications and files of all kinds, performance drops dramatically due to memory saturation. In MIUI, for example, there are some functions that allow us to improve the performance of a Xiaomi mobile to make it faster. This time we have compiled some of these functions to make the performance of the terminal more agile, regardless of the MIUI version.
Turn off automatic app update
Google Play automatically updates all the applications installed on the device. Beyond the network use that this implies, the update process can slow down our Xiaomi phones significantly.
To deactivate the automatic updates of Google Play we will go to the application. Then, we will go to the application settings by sliding the side menu to the right. Finally, we will click on the section Update applications automatically and activate the option Do not update applications automatically. In general, the Only via WiFi option will be checked by default.
And speed up system animations
One of the oldest Android cheats. The best solution to make a Xiaomi mobile faster is to reduce the time in which the MIUI animations run. In other words, speed up system animations. Unfortunately, modifying these settings requires previously activating the Developer Settings menu, a developer-oriented menu that allows us to modify certain Android parameters.
To activate this hidden menu we will go to the Settings application, more specifically to the About the phone section. Next we will click seven times on the MIUI Version section. MIUI will automatically issue a message that will notify us that we are already developers. To access the aforementioned menu we will go to the Additional Settings section that we can find in the Settings application.
Within Development Settings we will slide between the available options until we find the following:
- Window animation level
- Animation level of transitions
- Animation duration level
Ideally, set the figure at.5x, although we can also choose to completely disable animations. Be that as it may, we will notice a slight improvement when it comes to opening applications and games and navigating between MIUI options and menus.
Limit background application processes
By making use of them in advanced Android settings we can reduce the number of processes that run in the background. This is especially useful on mobile phones with 1, 2 or 3 GB of RAM, a somewhat limited figure if we take into account current requirements.
The option in question can be found under the name Limit background processes. The ideal is to limit the figure to 2 or 3 so as not to insult the real multitasking of our Xiaomi mobile.
Take out the virtual trash: turn to the MIUI cleaner
It is a fact, the read and write speed of flash memories is drastically reduced when the occupied capacity approaches the maximum capacity. This ends up leading to a significant reduction in performance.
The best way to solve this problem is to clean the applications and files that we do not need. In MIUI we can use the Cleaner application or the option with the same name that we can find in the Security section.
It is recommended to use the Deep Cleaning option to release a few gigs in one sitting. We can also program the tool to run every so often and thus avoid filling the memory.
