Forget about selfie sticks. The Samsung Galaxy A70 has a curious function that allows you to activate the camera shutter with your voice to take pictures from a distance or record video. It will be enough to go to the Samsung Camera application and access the Settings to find this setting, which we can identify with the name of Voice Control.
After activating the function in question, we can activate the camera with the following voice commands:
- Take pictures: potato, smile, capture or shoot
- Record Videos: Record Video
Forget GIFs: Take Motion Pictures
GIF images are a thing of the past. Live Caption is the latest feature from Samsung that allows us to capture moving images, not videos. Returning to the Settings of the Camera application, we can find the Animated Photo option.
Once we have activated the aforementioned function, the phone will record for a few seconds what our camera focuses on before taking the image as if it were a small video. To reproduce the image in the Gallery we will have to press and hold the snapshot.
Big mobile? Reduce virtual screen size
Let's not deny it, the Galaxy A70 is great. Very big. Fortunately, Samsung has an option that helps us reduce the virtual size of the screen.
The option in question can be found within Advanced functions in Settings; specifically in one-handed operation mode. It will be enough to activate the option in question and slide the interface from one of the sides of the screen to reduce the size of the screen.
Convert the Galaxy A70 into an external battery or powerbank
Although the Samsung Galaxy A70 and A71 do not have reversible wireless charging, it is possible to charge other devices through these using a simple USB OTG cable like the one we can see in the photograph. Currently this cable can be purchased in stores such as Amazon or PCcomponentes for a price around 5 and 10 euros.
Simply connect the adapter to the phone and then connect a USB cable to the latter to start charging. It is recommended to carry out this process when the battery percentage is not less than 20% to avoid degradation.
Capture the mobile screen by sliding the palm of your hand
Using physical buttons to take a screenshot is not always possible. For this reason, Samsung includes a powerful function that makes it possible to capture images without touching the phone, only through a simple hand movement.
Activating this function is as simple as going to Advanced functions in Adjustment and later to the option of Swipe the palm to capture the screen. Now we will only have to perform a dragging movement with the palm of our hand from one of the sides to the opposite side, as we can see in the image above.
Turn off fast charging to preserve battery health
Did you know that fast charging can affect long-term battery life? For this reason, from tuexperto.com we recommend using this system only when necessary and of extreme urgency. The rest of the time we can resort to a simple trick that allows us to deactivate the fast charge of the Galaxy A70.
The option in question can be found in the Maintenance section of the device in Settings. Within the Battery section, we will click on the three Options points until we find the Advanced Settings section, where we will find an option called Fast cable charging. Just uncheck the option to deactivate this function.
Automate actions on the Galaxy A71 with Bixby Routines
In addition to being a common voice assistant, Bixby has an entire automation environment that allows us to perform tasks based on a multitude of factors. This function is called Routines, and we can access it through the Advanced Functions section; specifically in Bixby Routines.
At this point the process is as simple as creating custom routines by adding actions and conditions or resorting to the routines that Bixby predefines by default. Let's look at some examples.
- Turn off the WiFi and reduce the screen brightness when it's 12:00 at night.
- Enable auto-rotation when YouTube app is running.
- Turn off the sound of the phone when I'm driving.
- Activate battery saver at night.
The possibilities are practically endless, so we can create as many and as varied routines as we want.
Improve Galaxy A70 performance by speeding up system animations
Is your Samsung Galaxy A70 running slow? One of the most useful tricks to spice up your phone is to speed up system animations. Animations that interfere with menus or the opening of applications.
Before proceeding with the aforementioned adjustment we will have to activate what in Android is known as Development Settings. To do this, just go to the About device section in Settings and click seven times on the Build number section.
Once we have activated the Developer Settings we can use them through the Settings application itself. Within the mentioned menu we will have to locate the following options:
- Animation transition scale
- Window animation scale
- Animator duration scale
The best thing to do to speed up system animations is to set the figure to 0.5x. If we want to disable the animations completely we can set the figure to 0x.
Improve the GPS accuracy of the Galaxy A70 with this trick
The GPS of our smartphone is not infallible, especially if we are in areas of difficult access or indoors. To improve the accuracy of the GPS we will have to resort to the nearest WiFi networks and the mobile network, parameters that we can find in the Location section within Connections in Settings.
Within the Location section we will find two new options: Location method and Improve accuracy. To improve the precision of the GPS, we will have to select the High precision and Improve the precision with WiFi options in each of the aforementioned previous sections, after activating the Location.
Record your games with the Game Tools application
It is a small application integrated into most Samsung mobiles with One UI 1.0 and 2.0. The application in question allows us to perform different functions, although undoubtedly the most striking has to do with the possibility of recording the screen during game sessions.
To activate this function, we will have to click on the application icon that we can find in the navigation bar during the execution of a game. Then we will click on Record et voilà , the application will begin to record both the image and the sound captured by the microphone.
Protect your applications with a password with Secure Folder
Tired of other people's glances when you turn on your mobile in public? Secure Folder is one of the most useful Samsung applications to protect any application with a password. To correctly configure said application we will have to go to the Biometric data and security section in Settings and then to Secure Folder.
The configuration process is as simple as resorting to a Samsung account (not valid with Google), configuring a blocking pattern and selecting the applications that we want to block. An icon will automatically be generated on the Desktop that will have the applications we want to protect, be it WhatsApp, Instagram or system applications such as Gallery.
Mirror the screen of the Galaxy A70 on a smart TV
Smart View is the Samsung function that allows us to duplicate the screen of the Galaxy A70 and send content to a Smart TV through the WiFi network. Just slide the quick setting panel down and tap on the setting in question to start casting the image on a Samsung Smart TV.
If our television is not compatible with this function, we can always use the Wireless Projection function that we can find in the Connections section in Settings. Previously we will have to synchronize the TV with the phone and make sure that both devices recognize each other.
