Surely you have ever wanted to protect WhatsApp, Instagram or Huawei's own Gallery application from other people's eyes. Thanks to the security functions of the P30 Lite we can block any application with our fingerprint or with an alphanumeric password or pattern.
How? As easy as going to the Settings application, and more specifically to the Security and privacy section. Within this we will go to the Application Blocking option and finally select the applications whose access we want to block. Then we will choose the security method that best suits our needs (numeric password, fingerprint, facial recognition, etc.).
Hide pictures, videos, documents and files on the P30 Lite
Along with applications and system shortcuts, EMUI allows us to hide images and videos within the phone's Gallery. Also documents and files in general within the external file managers and the Download folder.
Within Security and privacy in the Settings application we will go to the Safe option. After configuring the corresponding unlock pattern, we will select all those files that we want to hide through the EMUI File Explorer. Sound, image, video files or PDF, Excel or XML documents.
Once we have correctly configured the Safe, the files will be hidden. To access these again we will have to resort to the aforementioned option through the Settings application.
Record the screen without external applications
Until recently recording the system could only carry out third-party applications through. The good news is that the Huawei P30 Lite has a function that allows us to record everything that happens on the screen, including the sound of the system and the sound from the microphone.
Activating this function is as simple as sliding the quick settings bar down and clicking on the icon that we can see in the upper screenshot. If the icon in question does not appear, we can enable it in the settings curtain by clicking on the Pencil icon.
Improve gaming performance with Game Suite
Along with GPU Turbo, Huawei's API that improves gaming performance on all phones that support this feature, the Huawei P30 Lite has Game Suite.
Broadly speaking, it is an application that brings together all the games installed on the terminal and allows to further improve their operation by limiting background processes and prioritizing the execution of the title. Just run the game from the application - which is installed by default on most Huawei phones - to optimize performance.
The application in question has several modes and options: Performance mode, Saving mode… If the application is not installed on our phone we can always resort to AppGallery, Huawei's application store.
Speeds up the phone when opening applications and navigating the system
Older than Methuselah, but quite useful if we want to spice up the phone by speeding up the system animations. These animations influence the opening time of certain menus and applications on your phone. To configure these options, however, we will have to activate the ones known as Developer Tools.
Just go to the Settings application, specifically to System / About phone, to press seven times on the Compilation number section. The tools will then be activated in the aforementioned System section. Within these tools we will have to find the following options:
- Window animation scale
- Transition-animation scale
- Animator duration scale
The best thing to do to improve the performance of the P30 Lite is to set the figure at 0.5x. If we opt for 0x, the animations will be completely disabled.
Change the theme of the Huawei P30 Lite and customize it your way
Did you know that you can change the theme of your Huawei mobile? Although EMUI 10 no longer allows as much customization as previous versions of the company's layer, it is compatible with third-party themes through the Google store or through the Themes for Huawei application.
Once we have installed the application we will only have to install some of the themes from the catalog The best of all is that we can change the appearance of the system separately, that is, on the one hand, the icons, on the other the font typography, and on the other, the colors of the interface.
Once we have downloaded the respective themes we will have to go to the Themes section within the Settings application.
Enhance the Portrait Mode of your photos with Aperture Mode
Huawei's Portrait Mode is more than enough to take pictures of people with the background out of focus. If we want to take pictures of objects or animals or improve the final result of the image, we will have to opt for the Aperture Mode, present in the native Camera application.
Best of all, Aperture Mode makes it possible to edit the aperture level once the image has been captured. In Spanish this means that we can edit the intensity of the blur afterwards. Our experience also tells us that the results when trimming the bodies are much more achieved.
Use your voice to take pictures without touching your mobile
Continuing with the photography tricks of the Huawei P30 Lite, there is a very useful function within the Camera application that allows us to capture images with the voice saying Cheese or projecting a sound that reaches a preset decibel level.
The function in question can be found by going to the Advanced Settings of the application by sliding the camera interface to the left. Then we will go to Audio Control and activate the two options available in the corresponding section.
Quickly launch the phone camera with the push of a button
The last of the P30 Lite photography tricks is found in a curious function that allows us to start the camera with the phone locked. Within the same camera settings we can find a function called Quick snapshot.
After activating this function, we can start the camera from any part of the system by pressing twice on the unlock button. It should be added that the application will take a snapshot as quickly as possible, so it should be prepared to focus on the object, landscape or person that we want to photograph.
Duplicate the image of the Huawei P30 Lite on a smart TV
Neither Chromecast nor USB cable. If you have a smart TV that supports Screen Mirroring or Miracast features, a stable WiFi connection is enough to project the phone's image onto the TV screen.
The option in question can be found within the Settings application under Device Connection and Wireless Projection. With the phone connected to the same WiFi network as the TV, the system will start searching for compatible TVs. If this does not find the television, we will have to make sure that the Projection function is active on the latter.
After completing the synchronization process the image of the device will be duplicated directly on the TV. The delay will depend on the technology of the TV and the ping of the WiFi.
Block annoying or spam phone numbers
Have you recently received a call from a spam number? EMUI has a powerful function that allows us to block not only the phone number that we indicate to the system, but also those that meet certain conditions (unknown numbers, numbers not registered in the phonebook…).
If what we want is to block a particular phone number, simply press and hold the phone in question within the Phone or Calls application and select Block number. If we choose to block a series of numbers that meet a certain condition, the process is so easy to click on the three Options points within the aforementioned application and then on Filter.
If we want to block unknown numbers, we will activate the homonymous option. In case we want to block all incoming calls or numbers that are not registered in our personal directory, we will have to activate the respective options.
