miDGT is the application of the Directorate General of Traffic, in which you can take your license or car papers in digital format to check your driving test scores. And another thing you can do in it is communicate any change that has occurred in your personal data, such as your phone number if you don't know it you had previously given
To do this, you must log in to the application and press the three horizontal stripes that appear in the upper left corner, to access the menu.
In the menu that appears, go to the bottom and enter Settings. On the screen that appears, you will see how in the personal data section the first thing that appears is the phone. Click on this field and enter your number. Then click Save and the field will have been successfully modified.
You can follow the same process if you want to change the address or any other personal information.
Once this procedure is done, traffic will have your phone number to get in touch with you for any problem.
Why the message appears: this user has not registered his phone in miDGT
It is possible that when you go to log in to the app via SMS, a message will appear indicating that this user has not registered their phone number in myDGT .
This means that the General Directorate of Traffic does not have your phone number. Therefore, you will not be able to receive SMS messages for any notification, nor to be able to log in to the app. Luckily, there are ways around this problem so they can count on your phone almost instantly.
The first option is to enter miDGT using PIN or electronic DNI, and then provide your number as we have explained in the previous section.
The other option you have is to give your phone number at the Electronic Headquarters of the DGT, which you can enter through one of the two previous methods or with digital certificate.
In both options the phone is provided at the moment, so you shouldn't have problems again.
In any case, if you regularly use the miDGT app you will not often receive notifications from the Directorate General of Traffic by SMS, since they will reach you through notifications to the app So while giving out your number is recommended, it's not required if you haven't already.
