Before I tell you how to sort highlights on Instagram,you have to know what they are and how to do them. If you are a regular user of this social network, you will have noticed that, under the information of some profiles, some little circles appear, those are the featured stories. The peculiarity that they have is that, unlike a normal story, they do not expire after 24 hours.

If you want to know how to highlight stories on Instagram, you must first publish a story on your profile.Once online, enter it and at the bottom right, locate the heart symbol (as shown in the following image) , and tap it. Then select the “New” option to create your featured story. If you already have featured story “folders” created, you can choose to save it to one of them, but it's probably a bit of an advanced step that we'll cover next.

Another option is to hit the + sign that appears at the top of your profile and select the “Featured Story” option. Select the story you want to feature from your archive and you're done.

• You will directly access the archive of your outstanding stories, decide then, depending on what topic you are going to group them; for example “Travel”, and select those stories you want to highlight.
• Once selected, click "Next".
• On the next screen you can edit your featured story, by selecting the image and putting a title.
• Once you have it, you just have to click on “Done”, and the “circle” will appear just below your profile information.

This folder is not waterproof, that is, you can modify it whenever you want and add stories of your next trips (remember that this is just the example). We will explain it to you in the next point!

How to add photos to highlights on Instagram

Before knowing how to add photos to highlights on Instagram, you have to choose between one of two ways to do it; either from the story you just published, or also by entering the featured stories folder in which you want to add an image. Step by Step…

In the first case, you have to follow the steps that we have given right at the beginning on how to order the featured stories on Instagram: enter the story, search for the heart, and when you press it, all your folders will appear so you can choose which one to include it in.

Another way is: enter the folder in question, hit the three dots that appear at the bottom right (where it says "More") and, in the drop-down menu that appears, select “edit featured story”.
