The irruption of Clubhouse has forced the rest of the social networks to react quickly. Discover how to create audio rooms on Twitter to literally make your voice heard, thanks to its new Twitter Spaces service. This feature will remind you a lot, and rightly so, of Clubhouse, and is part of the new and deep facelift that Twitter has been undergoing in recent weeks.
Twitter Spaces, what it is and how it works
To do this, we will first briefly introduce Twitter Spaces, what it is and how it works. This new service gives you the possibility to create exclusively audio chat rooms in the application. Since December, the social network founded by Jack Dorsey began working on a beta version that has not yet finished crystallizing in an official version. Spaces is now available for Android and iOS users to join rooms, but at the moment only a small group with an Apple device will be able to create their own Space.
To be able to create your own Space, in addition to being part of that small group of iOS privileged people, you will also have to have your public account , since private ones do not have permission to create them. If this is your case, hold down the write tweet icon and select the Spaces icon, which appears on the left with a circular shape and diamonds inside. If you click on your profile image in the Fleets section and scroll to the right, you will also find the 'Spaces' option.

When you create your own Space, you can edit the name and add a description so that your followers are clear about the content of what is will speak in the room. This can be edited at any time as long as the room is active, so you can change it if you go from one topic to another.
The creator of the room has control over the participants who can speak or not in the room, so you can have your own guests to generate conversation topics. In the function you will find available the options 'Everyone', 'People you follow' or 'Only people you invite to speak'. In the latter case, you can send the invitations through direct messages. Being the host you can also activate the microphone for your guests, as well as expel, report or block users in the room.Remember that if you have an Android device you will not be able to create your own Space for the moment, although it is expected that the beta will continue to be developed and its use will soon be available to everyone .
Spaces will not have an audience limit, but will there will be a maximum of 11 guests, including the creator of the room, who can talk at the same time. If you are in the room and want to ask to speak, there will also be an option under the microphone for this. Twitter is also working to make live AI-generated captions available to users.

Although the theory indicates that all Android and iOS users can join a Space that is live, in reality we have been able to verify that in the case of Android this is not the case despite having the application updated. However, many users can find the active Spaces of the accounts that follow where the fleets are, at the top of the application menu.
Also you can join Spaces by clicking the link that the host shared via tweet, direct message, or otherwise (via WhatsApp, for example).
