You hear a song on the radio, you like it and want to save it to your library, but you don't know its name and you don't know the lyrics either. You search on Google: "What is the name of the song that says nanana, nanananana, nanana aaah", but Google does not understand you. It is one of the problems that many of us have had in adolescence, especially if you liked this song a lot. To this day, it's still difficult to search for a song on Google just by humming it, but the search engine company has the solution: ask the Google Assistant.
This is one of the Wizard's new features, and possibly one of the most useful yet. We can ask Google to recognize the song and hum it so that, through Machine Learning, recognizes the sounds and shows us the music we want to listen toThe assistant is capable of recognizing all kinds of hums: from a "Lulla, lullaby", to a "Mmmm, mm, mmm" or "Ba ba, badum, ooooh yeah". Even whistles. We just have to perform the melody, and we don't have to nail it perfectly either.
The Google Assistant will recognize this song and display a list with possible matches In this way the user will be able to play a fragment or recognize it by the title if you have looked for it because you do not remember the name. In addition, Google gives us the possibility of playing the song through the music service that we have by default in the Assistant.
This is how you can ask Google to find a song if you don't know the title
This feature is already coming to the Google Assistant on Android and iOS, and is available in 20 languages. New ones will be added later so that all users with the Google Assistant can search for songs just by humming.
What do we have to do to make Google Assistant recognize the song? Simply summon it via the “Hey Google” command or by pressing the assistant button and ask "What is this song?" Next, we have to hum a snippet (for about 15 seconds) until the assistant recognizes the song.
In Spain and for the Spanish language, this feature is already working.Of course, I have tested it to verify its operation. I just had to ask the Google Assistant what the song was and hum along After about 20 seconds, the song I was looking for, which goes "nanana, nanananana, nanana aaah” has recognized it with a 41% coincidence. It's about 'Cardigan' by Taylor Swift.
