- Setting up Google Home routines which is a gerund
Google Home routines are a fundamental pillar of the Google ecosystem. A routine is a set of automated processes that are executed when certain conditions are met. In this way, we can automate certain actions from our phone without having to resort to settings manually. Actions such as turning on the thermostat when the night begins, opening Spotify when we get home from work, sending a message to our relatives when we leave home... The possibilities are practically endless. And this time we will show you how to create routines for devices from Google Home
How to set the color of your home lights in Google Home
First, make sure to sync all devices with Google Home
That's how it is. Although most brands have their own application that allows us to control the devices (bulbs, thermostats, lights...), the truth is that they are usually quite limited. In case the devices are compatible with Google Home (we can check it in the manual of the device itself or on the manufacturer's website), we will have to synchronize them with the application of the same nameto create routines based on the conditions that we indicate.
The process to synchronize the devices with Google Home is more or less simple. From the application itself we will click on the + icon that we can find in the upper left corner. Immediately afterwards, we will click on Configure device and then on New devices if the device in question has the Made for Google certification or on Works with Google if it the device is compatible with Google Home.
If we choose the second option, the application will show us a list with all the manufacturers and brands compatible with the Google ecosystem. The next thing we will have to do is enter the credentials of the service in question (TP-Link Kasa, Philips HUE…) to synchronize the device with Google Home.
If everything went well, Google Home will show us an icon on the home screen with the icon and name of the device in question , as can be seen in the screenshot above.
Setting up Google Home routines which is a gerund
With all the devices synchronized with Google Home, the next step is as simple as clicking on the Routines icon that is shown on the initial screen of the application. Immediately afterwards, the wizard will show us several options depending on the type of routine we want to create: Bedtime (routines to go to sleep), Good morning (routines to start the day), I'm home (routines when you get home) o Leaving home (routines when leaving home)
After selecting the type of routine that we want to create, Google Home will show us a list of functions and conditions that vary depending on the type of routine and the devices that we have synchronized with the application. For example:
- When I say "Time to go to bed", the assistant will set the thermostat to 24ºC, create an alarm at 7:00 in the morning and activate the security system.
- When I say "Good morning," the assistant will turn off the thermostat, create a GPS route to work, and turn on the bathroom and kitchen lights.
Of course, actions can be configured one by one to our liking, as well as the 'condition' phrase that will activate the routine that we have created In this regard, the options are very diverse.
