How to silence a WhatsApp group forever

Do WhatsApp groups bring you upside down? Although apps like WhatsApp have become more essential than ever in recent months, chat activity has also increased considerably.
And WhatsApp groups have become a real headache with their constant notifications competing for our attention. But don't worry, WhatsApp is developing a new option that allows you to mute groups forever.
How to silence a WhatsApp group
WhatsApp has had the option to silence groups for a long time, although nothing definitive. So far, the stable version only offers the options to mute them for 8 hours, 1 week or 1 year.
While a year seems like a long enough time to rest from a group, some users would rather get rid of them forever. And they are in luck, WhatsApp is already working on a new dynamic that replaces "1 year" with "Always", as you can see in the image they share on WABetalInfo :
And to activate this option you just have to follow the steps you already know:
- Open the menu (three dots) of the group
- Choose the option “Silence notifications”
- And you select “Always” as the time period and that's it
A simple way to mute forever the groups that don't interest you, or that overwhelm you with their notifications. And when you want, take a look to see if something interesting has been shared in the group or if you want to interact with the rest of the members.
Note that this option is still under development, so you won't be able to see it even in the beta version of WhatsApp. But do not despair, it will soon reach all users. If you want to enjoy this option before your contacts, you will have to sign up for the WhatsApp beta program to see all the experimental functions tested before they go to the stable version.
