Safety when handling mobile phones is something that worries parents a lot. Children have ever earlier access to mobile devices, a window that can bring great satisfaction but, at the same time, dangers that must be prevented. For this, there are various applications that remotely control everything that the little ones can see. One of the latest proposals that has come to us in this regard is the new tool created by Microsoft, Family Safety AppWhat is it and how can it help parents keep their children's mobile use at bay? Here we show you.
Protect your children thanks to Microsoft
After staying in beta territory for a while, the Family Safety app appears for download for both iOS and Android phones. In this last operating system is where we have tested it. In order to use all of its features, you'll need to have a Microsoft account or create one right away. At the moment we connect, the app informs us that it will remain running in the background to be able to monitor the use of the screen and the location of your children. You will have to give them permission. Once you configure the permissions, the application is ready to start using.
Automatically, if there are already family members in your Microsoft account, they will be added to the home screen to begin monitoring. If you click on each one of them, you will be able to configure certain elements such as limits on the use of an application, hours of play, exact location, although for this you will have to ask your child to activate the activity report in the app that he has previously downloaded to his mobile.
To add more family members from the application itself we just have to go to the home screen and click 'Add someone' . You can perform this action only through your email. Currently, the ability to add a phone number is only available for phone numbers in the United States and Canada.
Microsoft ensures that the location data of each family member will not be sold to third parties or shared with data agencies . In this way, the user can be calmer with the new Microsoft application.
