Gboard changes the way you write messages on WhatsApp forever
Table of contents:
One of the best features to come to Gmail is 'Smart Compose', also called the 'auto-complete' feature. This option intelligently detects what we are writing and predicts the next words. This way we can send that message or email quickly, and that is appreciated when we lose more than an hour answering or composing emails. If it's useful in Gmail, imagine what it's capable of doing in messaging apps like WhatsApp or Telegram.Fortunately, this feature comes to these apps through Gboard.
The Google keyboard has been updated with the Smart Compose function, allowing messaging apps like WhatsApp or Telegram to use this feature. In this way, when we are chatting we can see what words the keyboard predicts, and if we agree with that phrase, we only have to slide to the right in the text to complete it and send the message.
This function is very useful if we usually write similar messages. For example, greetings, confirmation, goodbyes etc. For example, if We start by typing “Hello, how have you…”, Google will allow us to auto-complete the sentence by showing us the suggestion “has been the day”. This suggestion will appear in a less bright color and we can dismiss it if we continue typing or press the space bar on the keyboard.
How to have this function in WhatsApp
If you are interested in having this feature already, the version of Gboard that includes it is v9.5.12.317844448. Check Google Play for available updates. You can also download the latest APK from here. Next, set the Google keyboard as the default. To do this, go e to Settings > Language & input > Keyboard and choose the Gboard keyboard as default. Now, open WhatsApp and let the Smart Compose feature do its job.
Don't worry if it doesn't show you any suggestions at first, the keyboard has to learn from your typing so it can auto -complete more naturally.
