Pokémon GO has some bad news. Next August 2020 they want to make major changes to the game and to move forward they need to leave support for very low end or older mobiles behind. Such is the change that starting next month the game's developer, Niantic, has confirmed that Pokémon GO will no longer be compatible with Android phones that have a 32-bit processor
From the point of view of the "average" user, this will not be a problem, since very few mobiles currently have a 32-bit processor. The vast majority of them, if not all, now come with a 64-bit processor inside. Niantic assures that this change is vital and important in order to continue improving the game and incorporate new technologies and full support for the newest operating systems such as Android 11. If you have an Android mobile with a 64-bit processor or an iOS device, you will not be affected. for the change but if you are one of those who has a 32-bit mobile you should worry.
Which phones will not be compatible with Pokémon GO from August?
It is true that the list of mobiles could be huge, but the vast majority of models are very old and from about 6 or 7 years agoThe problem comes when this list includes some devices that were best sellers at the time, such as many devices from Samsung's Galaxy S series, the Sony Xperia Z range and the icon of cheap Android phones, the Moto G series. Some of the devices that will no longer be supported and still have many users are:
- The 1st generation Motorola Moto G.
- The Sony Xperia Z2 and Sony Xperia Z3.
- The Samsung Galaxy S4, Galaxy S5, Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy J3.
- This list will also include the vast majority of devices presented before 2015.
Therefore, if you have a mobile phone that is older than 5 years, this change may affect you and there will be no solution for that you can continue playing. Niantic says that by the time they roll out this new update, Trainers will need to move to a new 64-bit or iOS device to continue playing. If you have Pokémon GO, remember to synchronize and save it, because when the new update arrives you will be unable to continue playing if you are one of those affected.
Keep your account and password safe so you can switch to a new device and continue conquering gyms. As always, evolution takes a toll on some along the way and we hope this change affects as few of you as possible.
