How to know what services a restaurant offers
To find a restaurant or any particular food place on Google Maps you just need to type its name in the app's search engine. And if you don't have a specific restaurant in mind, you can use the search engine using terms like “restaurants + a keyword that specifies what you are looking for” or the suggestions that appear in “Explore nearby” to see different options.
In any of the cases, Google will provide you with the record of the restaurant with all the updated data that the business has established. As you can see in the images, with a simple glance you will see if they have already enabled consumption in the place, if they have the option to take away or if they work with delivery.
Once you confirm that the business is enabled to consume on site, you can take a look at the "Summary" and "Photos" tab to see the restaurant amenities (if it has a terrace, entrance for access with wheelchairs, if it is suitable for children, etc).
A detail to keep in mind is that if you want to enjoy the terrace of a bar or restaurant you will have to make sure to book in advance, since the limitations allow them to work only at 50% of their capacity. Some businesses allow you to start the reservation process from the same Google Maps tab, or send messages from the same profile.
Special hours and temporary closures
If you want to know if a restaurant or any food place is open or works with limited hours, you have to follow the same dynamics that we mentioned before.
Search for the restaurant on Google Maps and look at the business listing if there are changes in its hours For example, if it has closed for the coronavirus crisis you will see a message in red "Temporarily closed" that differs from "Closed" because it is after hours.
In the case of restaurants that are still working, the tab will show if it is open (with the closing time) or closed (with the opening time). And to learn more about the restaurant's hours, you just have to open the "Summary" tab and look for the clock icon to see the full schedule for the week.
An important detail: do not forget to take a look at the "News" tab, since they usually leave messages informing about the changes they are making due to the coronavirus crisis.Of course, all of this information will only be available if businesses update their information.
