YouTube and your Google searches come together in the same application
And no, it's not like Google has created a new app to pull together videos and Google search results. It already does it directly in the YouTube video application as an experiment. Perhaps with some future plan in mind in which to combine all your search engine. Thus, during these days, it is possible that you come across links to web pages when you search for a specific content within YouTube Yes, web pages between video searches.
The information comes from Reddit, a forum where users can share opinions, findings and content of all kinds. From here, different media have echoed the discoveries of a user who, looking for a normal video on YouTube, has come across something strange. A portion of the search results where not only videos related to the search term are displayed, but also a link to a web page Content more typical of the Internet browser . The point is that more users have come across this feature, which makes us think that Google would be really interested in implementing it.
Apparently, and appreciating that not all users have this feature, Google would only be testing it in the YouTube application. A function with which not only to find a video related to the search, but also more information in formats other than video.Sort of like what you already do in Google searches (on the web or in the app), by displaying results from YouTube. But vice versa.
The measure can be interesting when it comes to keeping the user jumping between their services as they search for videos or articles and publications. Having everything in all places can be useful. However, it seems somewhat forced. If we're already on YouTube, why would we want a website? For that we would search directly in Google, right?
The interesting thing about this experiment is that the results in the form of links to web pages appear among the recommended and related videos in the search, as a suggestion. In addition, the link can be opened directly in the YouTube application, in order to not leave it through the Google Chrome browser when consulting said page. Something that saves us some time. But beware, we also have the option of looking for this link outside the application. So we have all the options within the YouTube tool.
At the moment Google has not officially ruled on this new feature. What makes us think that it is still in a test phase and that it is not so clear that it ends up being a reality. We will have to wait to find out more details about this unification of searches between YouTube and Google. And do you think it is an interesting function?
