This time of quarantine has been a challenge for parents and teachers, but also an excellent opportunity to help little ones interact responsibly with the internet and digital resources.

And to help with this task, the Huawei Spain team has launched a mobile application that helps children and adolescents to use social networks responsibly and take care of possible dangers related to privacy.

This is how the Huawei app works for children

The app is called Private Detective and its dynamics is based on analyzing different situations that are common in social networks and evaluating whether those attitudes are correct or hide some danger. To do this, some dynamics of popular social networks are imitated and the children's criteria are put to the test so that they indicate what they think of a certain behavior.

For example, they will see if it is correct to share images without the author's consent or if it is safe to make our location public in the publications we upload to social networks, among many other situations. The app tries to be an entertaining experience for children, so it combines these opinion questions with images, interactive content and different games

All content is divided into different games: ChatApp, Beeper, FotoCam and Smartbook. Each of them exposes different areas of the social networks and platforms, so they can be analyzed independently and learn little points every time they take the app.It is a simple dynamic, easy to follow and entertaining.

This can become an interesting tool for parents to teach the little ones in the house how the social networks they see so often work, the dangers they can find and how to avoid them. Each situation that is exposed in the app opens a series of opportunities for them to discuss as a family these issues that are so important for the safety of children on the Internet.

This free app, which is part of Huawei's Smartbus education initiative, is available on both the Google Play Store and the Huawei App Gallery.
