Turn your selfie into a Van Gogh or Da Vinci style work of art
Table of contents:
Do you like to experiment with your photos and give them a creative touch? Then you're in luck because Google Arts & Culture has added a new feature to make art out of your selfies.
The idea of this function is to apply characteristics of different styles of art on your own photography, thanks to the power of Google's AI. So with a simple click you will see how the style of works by Frida Kahlo, Leonardo da Vinci or Vincent van Gogh are transferred to your image.
We tell you how to use this function and give an artistic touch to your photos from your mobile.
Choose artistic styles for your selfies
This new function is called Art Transfer and you will find it using the camera from the application. You just click on the camera and the function will appear along with the rest of the collection, such as Art Selfie, Color Palette, Art Projector, among others.
You just need to take a selfie at the moment or choose a photo from the mobile gallery. And then you will see the 23 available styles that you can choose to apply to your image, as you see in the examples:
You can apply the style to the entire photo or just to a specific section. If you want to choose a single sector then use the scissor-shaped icon that allows you to select the area you want with your finger.
While we mentioned selfies, also you can apply these styles to any image you want, so if you want to give a baroque look to your That photograph of the living room or a surreal touch to the mascot of the house, you can do it.
As the style is applied you'll see information about the artist and characteristics of their work. You can try styles as many times as you want or combine different artists in the same photo by selecting areas and applying styles.
You can then share your artistic selfie as an image or as a gif showing how your photo changes. An interesting resource to share with the little ones during this time of quarantine and show them the works of great artists in a fun way.
