The state of alarm has been applied in Spain in order to prevent the spread of Covid-19. One of the points of that decree is confinement for at least 15 days, leaving to carry out some exceptional tasks: shopping, walking the dog or even going to work. This means that you cannot go see your friends or family, since it is one of the prohibited activities. Fortunately, there are applications that can help us deal with this quarantine.One of them is Houseparty, which allows us to play games and make video calls with friends.
Houseparty is free to download on Google Play or the App Store. It has quickly become one of the most popular apps. The truth is that the functions it offers are very good to pass the time. We can make video calls with up to 6 friends. The interface has a design similar to FaceTime or Google Duo, with a main screen where the camera is already active, and with different options at the top and bottom. If we want to invite a friend, we just have to click on the face icon that we see in the upper area. We can also send an invitation via SMS from the button on the right.
On the other hand, at the bottom are the different controls: the possibility of activating or deactivating the camera, being able to rotate the front or rear lens, deactivating the microphone or cancel the video call. The padlock in the center is used to lock the video call settings.

In addition, by sliding up from the bottom we will have access to the list of friends, as well as the inbox where we can send and receive messages.
Apart from video calls, Houseparty also allows us to play games remotely. For example, we can play 'Trivia' or 'Quick Draw'. To play these games with friends, just select one during the video call. Or, pick the game and invite your friends. Unfortunately, in some games we have to pay extra to use some functions.
