WhatsApp has different options for users to protect themselves from those who generate spam, harass or cause any kind of annoyance.
Sometimes they are unknown, but in most cases our contacts are the cause of the problem. How can you report a contact? Will WhatsApp remove your account?
How to report a contact on WhatsApp
It is a simple process, which you can do in different ways.
You can do it from the contact's chat. Just press the three dots to see the options menu, and you will find the “Report” option, as you see in the images:
Once you select the option, WhatsApp will ask you to confirm that you want to report your contact and that's it.
Another option is to go to the contact profile tab and scroll to the bottom where you will find the options to Block and Report contact.
Note that when you finish the report, this process that WhatsApp describes begins:
When you report a contact or group, WhatsApp receives the most recent messages you received from that user, as well as information about their recent interactions.
If you consider that it is not enough for WhatsApp to understand the situation and you want to explain the reasons for your report and why they should remove it the account to a certain contact, then it will help you to consider another possibility:
Send a more specific report to WhatsApp. You will find this option in Settings >> Help >> Contact us.
But keep in mind that this is for exceptional cases involving a contact, since as we saw, WhatsApp has reporting and blocking tools.
What happens when you report a contact?
A detail to keep in mind that reports are not de alt with automatically, but rather take a process until WhatsApp analyzes the situation.
Therefore, together with the option to report, the possibility of blocking the contact is also added so that they no longer bother you. Once you block him, you will no longer receive any messages he sends, nor will he be able to see your updates, profile photo changes, etc
Will WhatsApp remove your contact's account? That depends on many factors. For example, it is taken into account if more users have reported the same person, since in that case, it is established that they are using WhatsApp to annoy others. And of course, they will evaluate if it violates some of the conditions and policies of the platform.
