The new DGT application is now available in beta, both for iOS and Android. This application, which will soon reach its final version, allows us to carry the documentation in our wallets, as well as see how many points we have on our license, or what our vehicle's insurance information is. But… What can we do and what can't we do with the DGT app? We answer the most common questions.
How do I log in to the app?
As Mi DGT needs your personal data to synchronize everything, it is necessary to log in with your electronic ID or PIN. The app contains the necessary data to request a PIN or access with our electronic ID. Once the login step in the app is completed, we can allow synchronization with our fingerprint or Face ID.
Can I bring my driver's license in the app?
Yes, in the DGT app we can carry our driver's license. Moreover, as soon as we log in with our PIN ( which includes the DNI and our fiscal data), the driver's license will appear with all the permits we have.
Can I leave my driving license at home and use my mobile?
At the moment, no. This function will arrive shortly, when the DGT approves a regulation that allows us to carry the card on our mobile and leave the physical card at home. In this way, if the competent authorities ask us to identify ourselves with our driver's license, we can use our mobile phone, open the app and show our license. However, if they stop us today and we do not have the physical card, but we do have the mobile one, they could penalize us. Since it would not be a legally valid document.
My DGT does not launch any warning in the application, but the warning does appear in the description of the app, on Google Play or the App Store.
Can I see how many driving license points I have in My DGT?
The application shows on the main screen how many points of the driver's license If for any infraction, points are taken from us, it will also be reflected. Can I view and pay fines from the app?
Not currently, My DGT focuses for the moment on being able to include personal documentation for driving, as well as vehicle data. However, the General Directorate of Traffic has already confirmed that you will soon be able to review and pay the pen alties from the app itself.
Can I see the information of my car or motorcycle?
If there is one in our name, the most important vehicle data will appear in the app. Among them, the license plate, the car insurance or the environmental label.
Can I put my vehicle documentation in the app?
Yeah. With the My DGT app we can also add the documentation of our vehicle, such as the registration certificate and the technical sheetWe will only have to scan the QR code that appears on the documents, and the information will be uploaded to the application.
