Step by step to sell a product by Wallapop

It may seem harsh when said like that, but it is a reality. January is the month in which we return the gifts that we did not like to exchange them for others that we would like to have more. But what about the gifts we don't like, or we have duplicates, and we can't change? You can opt for two alternatives: either you keep it and let it collect dust in the closet or you open an account in Wallapop and try to sell it. And, with what you get from your sale, you take advantage and buy something really useful.

And they don't have to be gifts, we're not such bad people either. They can be items that we no longer use, or that we use so little that we prefer to have the money, cold and hard, in our wallet, than in an object whose sole function is to occupy valuable space in your home. Wallapop currently stands as one of the most popular platforms for buying and selling second-hand items, but it can be tedious if you've never used it. That's why we come here, to help you upload, step by step, an item on Wallapop and sell it as soon as possible.

First steps: download and install Wallapop

The easiest and fastest way to sell an item on Wallapop is to do it directly from your mobile phone. To do this, we are going to go to this link and we are going to download and install its application for Android. If you use an iPhone, you must enter this link.The tutorial works for both systems since the interface of the tool does not change.

Once we have downloaded it, we install it and proceed to create an account. You can create it through an email or by linking your Facebook or Google accounts. Have you already created your account? We recommend that you complete your profile with a photo that gives confidence so that, in this way, you have a better chance of making your sale effective. To do this, enter the menu with three stripes that you find in the upper left part of the screen and click on the icon with the initial of your name. This appears because you don't have a photo on yet.

Edit your profile and upload your article on Wallapop

On the next screen, tap the pencil icon. Here you can place your profile photo, as well as other information that may be useful such as a brief personal description, opening hours and your telephone number.In a first contact, you and the potential seller will speak directly from an internal chat without the need for them to see your phone number.

Now we are going to proceed to upload the item we want to sell. On the home screen, click on the bottom where it reads '+ upload product'. Next, we select the category to which the product belongs. This is important, since your product will then appear within the category that you assign to it.

On the next screen, we are going to upload the photos of the product by clicking on the camera icons. You can upload up to ten different photos of the product. Make sure the photos are good, have good quality, and offer multiple views of the product. When we have the photos, click on the green check. The photos will have been placed on top of the camera boxes.

Next, we put the title and description of the item, the price of the item and the currency you use. You will also be able to choose the weight range of the article in case you are willing to send it. The latter is not essential and you can limit the sale to a personal transaction.

Once we have finished with everything, click on 'Upload product' and that's it. Now we will have to wait for someone to contact us, be lucky that we don't haggle too much, complete the purchase and have some extra money, which is always good.
