Oh, friendship... How many forms it has and how much we brag about it. Especially on Instagram Stories. A corner where it seems that congratulating your friends is almost mandatory, and that it is becoming more and more. But there is a trick. You don't have to break your head looking for photos here and there to remember the best moments with someone. Now Instagram gives you the option to show how much you love your friends just by spending a couple of minutes congratulating in stories.
This is a new function that Instagram has introduced within the Create menu in Instagram Stories. A section that now allows you to collect a good number of old publications with that special person to celebrate her birthday. And what's more, you can edit and enhance them with custom messages and other details. Here we tell you step by step how to do it.
New function in Create
It is enough that you have updated the Instagram application to the latest version Download any update available in the Google Play Store if you have an Android mobile , or from the App Store if you have an iPhone. This feature may be rolling out to all users, so be patient if you don't see it at first.
It is available by entering Instagram Stories. To do this, click on the camera icon or slide your finger from left to right in the main Instagram menu.
The next step is to navigate through the different options to capture a story. Scroll to the option to the left of Normal, called Create, to find another carousel of options.
In this second carousel look for the heart icon called Shortcuts. By default, the first option that appears on the screen is Happy Birthday However, there are other options that appear when clicking on the dice icon on top. You can navigate through all these options until you find the birthday one. An interesting point is being able to change the color of the background by clicking on the colored circle in the lower right corner.
Then all that remains is to enter the name of the account of that friend or family member whom you want to congratulate on Instagram Stories. For this there is a bar in the middle of the screen where you can write your username. Doing so starts the greeting creation process automatically.
Posting a greeting on Instagram Stories
Once the congratulation has been created, Instagram shows different stories that you have previously shared with the person you are going to congratulate. It does so with a special artistic background and with the message Happy Birthday visible on all of them.
This greeting is made up of several publications if you have these photos in your file. You can navigate from one to another by clicking on them in the carousel at the bottom. It's like when you record several stories in a row, being able to jump from one to another comfortably just by pressing them. You can also remove any post from this carousel that you don't want to share. You just have to perform a long press on any of them in the carousel, and then choose the trash can icon And, if you want to add new publications manually, move the carousel all the way to the right and click the + icon to add the photo you want.
The interesting thing is that you don't lose editing options compared to normal stories. In other words, you can include stickers, GIF animations, write or draw with your finger, etc Click on the icons at the top of the screen to add the elements you want and move them around the screen at will. A good option to add messages of love, support or whatever you want to add to the publication.
The last step is to publish all this.Just tap on the Next option to proceed to the Instagram Stories Share screen. Here you will have the option to publish it in your story as usual, or to send it directly to Instagram Direct or private chat of a specific person or previously created group.
