How to find route and parking in Google Maps
Table of contents:
Do you use Google Maps to move around the city? Personally, even though I know the streets of my city like the back of my hand, I always like to use the Google maps app in the car. In this way I can know the traffic, warnings and some alternative routes in case I need to take a detour to refuel or pick someone up. Google Maps is a very, very complete app, and it allows us to easily add stops to our route. In big cities finding parking is very difficult. Now, the Google app allows you to search for parking along the route, so you can do it.
This new function is being added to the app on Android and iOS, and allows us to search for all the available car parks in the city. The application already warned us if it was a difficult area to park, but now it allows us to search for parking. To do this, we just have to mark the route in Google. For example, from Calle Sants to Paseo De Gracia. When searching, in the option to go by car, a box will appear at the bottom with information about the time it will take, the kilometers and the parking lot. If we open this box (sliding from the bottom area upwards) We will see a warning according to the level of parking. In the center, as expected, it is a very difficult area to park.
Closest parkins first
Just below we have an option that says 'Search for parking'. If we press it, it will show us all the available car parks on the route. Google orders these car parks from less to more distance from the destination. It tells us how long it would take us to walk from the Parkin, where the car park is located and the possibility of adding it to the route. In some cases the Parkin names already let us see that they are free. For example, when searching for a location, it appeared as the name of the car park 'Parkin Hipercor Gratuito', but there is no option to find out if it is free, paid or even what the average price is.
If we want to select that parking space, click on 'Add Parking' and quickly Google Maps will show us the route we have to take with the Parking stop included. Note that selecting the route does not mean that there is a free space.
