Among the supermarkets that we have available in our country, Lidl is presented as a good alternative thanks to its wide variety of products and its competitive prices. In addition, it is committed to mobile technologies by integrating an application that goes beyond providing the user with the catalog of current offers. When opening the application for the first time, it asks us for the country from which we are using it. In our case, Spain.

Then, after the application's usual presentation screens, we will have to select the store where we go most often to buy. You can grant location permissions so that the application opens a map and locates the closest Lidl stores to your home. You can even try the application if you want to know which Lidl is the closest to your home you have, in the case, for example, if you have moved or You don't know much about the area. When we have the store ready, click on 'Select this store' and we will already have it associated to check the prices, offers and get the different coupons.

Next is when you will have to create an account associating your email, so that whenever you open the application and connect, the usual store, your tickets and coupons, etc. Now we go with the important thing, the main interface of the application.

Before getting into the subject, we look at the blue button that says 'Lidl Plus Card'. Here we must press when we arrive at the cashier, where we will pass the card through the reader that they have enabled at the cashier. In this way, the discount coupons will be read and it will be linked to the app to offer purchase tickets and, even, to be able to pay with the application.

The Lidl Plus application is divided into five parts, differentiated by a lower bar with different icons.

Start

Perhaps the most important part of the entire application. Here you will find all the coupons that are currently valid. To get hold of them you will have to activate the ones that interest you so that, once you check out, the application detects the purchase and gives you the final discount. You cannot forget to activate them because, if not, the discount will not be effective. And you should not forget to enter, from time to time, in the coupon section, because these are renewed and those that do not interest you today may tomorrow. To activate them, you simply have to click on 'Activate' and that's it.

On this screen you will receive personalized advice on products that are available in the selected store. The application will record your successive purchases and create a brochure customized to your shopping habitsThis section is great if you forget something on the shopping list or if you want to add a last-minute product.

Finally, you will have access to the promotional brochure of the week and the following ones. When you choose a brochure, it will open in a new window and you will have to turn the pages simply by sliding your finger to the side. You can zoom in anywhere on the page, and you can also download them as PDFs by clicking on the three-line menu at the top of the screen.

Coupons

Here you will have a practical shortcut with all the coupons that are currently available. If you click on a coupon, a new screen will open with all its characteristics: what discount does it offer, how many units is it limited to, until what day is it available, etc. To activate them, just you have to click on 'Activate' and they will remain saved in the application with the label 'activated', automatically deleted when they expire.You no longer have to do anything else, activate them and check out the product. Take a good look when choosing the product that is the same as the one on sale, as there are similar products that can cause confusion, such as yogurts.

My Wallet

In this section we will be able to configure a credit/debit card to pay with the application Yes, even if we don't have NFC in our mobile, if we associate our card through this page and the LIdl Pay function we can go to the supermarket without a card and swipe our mobile to make the payment.

Then, in the 'My purchases' section you have the tickets corresponding to your latest purchases in Lidl stores. If you click on each of them, a new window will open with the detailed receipt, being able to share it with your contacts as well as place a favorite star if you want to highlight one for whatever reason.

Brochures

In addition to being able to access from the home screen, the application offers you direct access to the brochures of Lidl stores. You can check the current ones and those that will soon be available.

How was our shopping experience at Lidl with Lidl Plus?

We have made several purchases with the Lidl Plus application and the procedure is very simple.You just have to be aware of having the mobile phone turned on with the application card in the foreground and pass it through the cashier scanner. Is it worth it for the discounts? Definitely. Carrying the mobile we are going to take it anyway and it does not cost anything to take a look at the coupons while we are on the way to the supermarket. Swiping the card is a very simple act and thanks to this you will have all your tickets saved and you will even be able to download and store them. And for each purchase they give you a scratch off coupon with which you can get 50 cents as a gift… at least, that is the coupon that has come out the most times.

In short, Lidl Plus is an app that is worth downloading because we are going to save a little money and, in addition , the purchase will make us more entertaining.
