Are the cosmetics you use reliable? You can scan them with the Yuka app
Table of contents:
We have already told you here, before, about the Yuka application, a tool that recently climbed to the top of the most popular in the Play Store. This is undoubtedly due to the fact that we are increasingly concerned about our diet and we always want to buy the he althiest products. Thanks to the Yuka application, we can scan the barcodes of said foods to obtain a detailed analysis of their ingredients, as well as a numerical assessment. The higher the valuation, the better for consumption said food will be. In this link you can see more about Yuka and how it works with the food we scan.
Find out the content of your cosmetics thanks to the Yuka app
But here, today, we are for something else, but without leaving the application. And it is that Yuka is not only going to let us know when a food is he althy or not, but it will do the same with our cosmetics. The procedure is exactly the same, all you have to do is open the application, focus your scanner on the product's barcode and, if it is in its database, it will throw them to you automatically. It is curious, however, that almost the vast majority of cosmetic products that I have gone through the scanner return a quite negative result. Taking into account that all the products that I have analyzed have passed he alth and safety controls, we can say that the information offered by this application must be taken with a grain of s alt.We recommend using it only as a mere hobby, or if we are really interested in knowing the ingredients of a particular cream, toothpaste or shampoo.
As with food analysis, Yuka cannot be trusted as a professional dietitian. If we really want to know if a food is he althy, we must look at its ingredients and contextualize them within the food. A soft drink with sweeteners is not he althy because it offers few calories, for example. That is why Yuka can serve us as a small guide or orientation but never to consider it as a scientific truth.
Yuka is available for download on the Google Play Store. It is not too big, only 23 MB, in addition to having a premium mode that allows you to scan products without the Internet or search for them without having to scan them.
