Seven tricks to get the most out of Mi Fit and Xiaomi's Mi Band
Change watch faces
The clock interface can be changed on the latest generation of Mi Band bracelets. And all the variety that we have is in the application itself. To enter the bracelet section in Mi Fit we are going to go to the option 'Profile' in the lower bar of the application. In 'My devices' click on 'My Smart Band'.
Next, we enter 'Bracelet screen settings'. The next screen will display a catalog of available wristbands. To install one, click on it and click on ‘Synchronize clock appearance‘. Once installed, you can check on the bracelet itself that the process has been completed correctly.
Set up applications to receive them well
Thanks to the Mi Band we will be able to know if we have received an email, a WhatsApp, even if someone is calling us. But, for that we must have the notifications well configured. We proceed as follows:
- In the 'My Smart Band' section we are going to enter 'Application alert'. On this screen we choose which notifications we want to receive on the bracelet, selecting the corresponding applications.
- Then, make sure the app doesn't quit from multitasking. To do this, go into multitasking and press and hold the My Fit box. Then, tap on the padlock.
- You can also configure if you want to receive notifications only if the mobile screen is locked.
To receive call notifications, enter 'Incoming calls' within the 'My Smart Band' section. On this screen you can configure everything related to call alerts.
Set up heart rate detection
As you already know, with the Mi Band you can also perform a monitoring of your pulsations, both during physical exercise, while you sleep, or with any other activity. You have three ways to ask the band to measure your heart rate:
- Automatic heart rate detection: reduces battery life because it is continuously measuring heart rate. A recommended mode for when you exercise and want to check what heart rate you are moving at in order to get the most out of your training.
- Sleep assistant: In this way, it will measure your heart rate while you sleep, thus being the most accurate analysis
- Automatic Heart Rate Detection and Sleep Assist: A combination of both. With this mode the autonomy of the band will be reduced very drastically.
To get to this configuration, on the screen corresponding to the 'Mi Band', scroll all the way down and locate the section 'Heart rate detection '.
Unlock your phone with the Mi Band
Do you want the mobile to unlock when it is linked, via Bluetooth, with the Mi Band? It is very simple. To do this, we just have to enter the section 'Lock screen' and choose the unlock range: if we have to be close to the bracelet or if, for On the contrary, we can unlock it even if we are far from it. Follow the steps easily and tap on the Mi Band screen when prompted.
Sorts the items displayed on the Mi Band
We can organize the different elements that we have available in the Mi Band, such as the state of your physical activity, heart rate, time... To do this, we are going to go to the screen of our 'My Smart Band' and, scrolling down, 'Display Settings'.On the next screen the different sections of the watch will appear as you currently have them placed on the bracelet. To raise or lower the ones you want, you must hold down the section required by the part of the stripes and, then, place it in the corresponding place.
Set night mode
From the Mi Band 4 we can enjoy more brightness on the bracelet, finally ending, in this generation, the serious problem of seeing the band outdoors. But what is the problem now? that if we put it very bright, then indoors it can bother, especially if it is at night. So that this does not happen, what we can do is ask the bracelet to automatically dim the brightness of the screen, when a certain time arrives. For that, we have to go, again, to the screen of the Mi Band bracelet in the 'Mi Fit' application. We then have to locate the 'Night mode' section, being able to set a schedule ourselves according to our preferences or let the bracelet itself do it and lower the brightness, automatically, when it is getting dark in our city. So simple and easy.
Lock the screen when you take it off
The Mi Band 4 renews its security section offering the user the possibility of configuring a security pin If we remove the band and someone (or ourselves) try to access it, it will ask us for the number. When entering it correctly, it will be activated and we can use it as usual. It is only activated, be careful, if we take off the bracelet.
To do this we are going to go to the 'Laboratory' section and click on 'Screen lock'. We set the password and, at that time, every time you remove it, you will be asked to return to normal operation.
