This will be the dark mode of Instagram
Android 10, the latest version of the system, has the much acclaimed dark mode natively, a function that most apps are already implementing. This is the case of Instagram, which is testing it in its latest Alpha version. As usual, dark mode completely changes the interface of the application, which stops being predominantly white to become a black background.
The change is obvious and it is intended to get Instagram users to relax their eyes when using the social network, or simply to save battery life.Instagram's dark mode has been released in version 114.0.0.0.24, which is still in a very early phase. Therefore, at the moment there is no button to adjust this mode manually, but we have to control it from the general button in Android.
It should be noted that the deployment of this novelty is done from the server side. This means that even if you have this version, you have no guarantee that you will have dark mode enabled. In any case, if you want to try your luck and see if you can make use of the new function, you will have to download alpha version 114.0.0.0.24 or higher. We recommend that you have a little patience and wait for the release of the final version, which could happen in the next few weeks. You already know that this type of version that are not yet final may contain errors and cause the app to stop working, run slow, or cause some of its main functions to not work correctly.
Only then will you make sure that the dark mode works correctly, as well as the rest of the functions of the app. Instagram is not the only application that has added dark mode to its settings, Facebook Messenger also has it officially for Android since last April. To activate it you only have to follow two simple steps.
- Click on your profile image (at the top left) and enter the settings.
- Then turn on the Dark Mode option.
As soon as the dark theme is activated, the interface will change to black, which will help save our terminal's battery, and so that the panel does not dazzle us when we are writing in the dark or in low light.
