How to change the wallpaper in the new version of Android Auto
Table of contents:
Google has taken advantage of this summer to renew the Android Auto interface. With a rather radical change, the new interface now includes an application drawer and direct access to notifications. It is a design more similar to that offered by Apple Car Play. This makes it easy to launch apps directly from the vehicle's screen. In addition, it has a new navigation bar that now lets us do two things at once. For example, we can control multimedia playback without leaving the map.All this is complemented by a new dark mode that, despite being very interesting to drive, can be a bit boring. Fortunately, it is now possible to change the wallpaper in the new version of Android
Put a slightly happier wallpaper on Android Auto with Substratum AA Wallpaper
AA Wallpaper is an application that allows us to change the Android Auto wallpaper using Substratum Substratum is, roughly speaking, a theme manager for our Android that allows us to make a much deeper customization than that of other systems.
To be able to use the AA Wallpaper application we need Substratum, obviously, and Android 5.0. Once installed, we will have to use the Substratum Manager application to be able to create the theme for Android Auto with the background that we like best Of course, we can only use the backgrounds which includes the AA Wallpaper application, not just any image.
Luckily, the selection of images included in the application is quite extensive We have everything from logos of car manufacturers to wallpapers of well-known series, movie characters and all kinds of images. In total, the application has almost a hundred backgrounds to choose from, so we're sure to find one that we like.
One thing to note is that Android Auto wallpaper customization does not work on Android 10. However, according to users, it works perfectly on Android 9 Pie.
As we mentioned before, perhaps the black background is ideal so as not to distract the view from the road. However, I could be a bit boring. So if you want to change it, you already know how to do it.
