Google will soon launch a new Android Auto mobile application
Table of contents:
Android Auto is an application developed by Google so that we all have an authentic Android experience in our car. Thanks to Android Auto we can use the Google Assistant, use the Google Maps browser, listen to songs and podcasts, and answer phone calls without using our hands. Now, the days of the application that we all know about Android Auto could be numbered.
What will the new Android Auto be like?
At the Google Developers Congress (I/O) held last May, a new 'Assistant Driving Mode' was announced, an interface that would eventually replace Android Auto definitively. In addition, Android Auto would become one more feature of Android 10, ceasing to be exclusively an application to download and install. Google explained that Android Auto would be available in Android 10, simply by connecting our mobile to the car, without further stories or additional applications. In addition, in the following weeks they assure that they will publish a new independent application called 'Android Auto for Phone Screens' in the Play Store. In order to use the usual version of Android Auto, the user must go through the application store and download this application.
Android Police speculates that the new app could be nothing more than a simple shortcut to the new driving mode, similar to how Google Podcasts works, which is a shortcut to the podcasts feature within from the usual Google application. It could be an inherited version of the previous one with the same interface that we already know, exclusive for less powerful or older mobiles, or even work on all models, including those with Android 10. Or, the application could be totally new, and the interface of the application, too, could be a replica of the one we see on the screen of our car. Until there is more official information in this regard, everything remains in the field of speculation. We will continue to inform you as soon as we have more news.
