This is what dark mode looks like in Google Pay for Android phones
Do you usually pay from your mobile? Are you worried about bringing dark mode to every corner of your terminal? Well, if you are a Google Pay user, you can now combine both thanks to its latest update. A new version that brings as its main change this dark design Is it the solution to gain battery percentage? Yes and no, but if you like everything to be consistent on your mobile, you will surely enjoy this version.
This is Google Pay in its version 2.96, which is gradually reaching all Android mobile users. Of course, as usual by Google, this landing can take up to several weeks to occur on your mobile. And it is that they want everything to work as it should before taking it to the general public. So you better be patient or go through APKMirror where they already have the apk file of this version available for download.
There aren't too many surprises in this version 2.96 of Google Pay. Not even the dark mode surprises. Especially since there is no notable redesign or change, beyond replacing the white background with a dark one. And by dark we mean grey, no black at the moment. Thus, on all the screens, both the main payment screen and the rest of the settings and configuration, they now have a dark grayish hue.Interesting to use the application in the dark without attracting so much attention with a white background, but not so much to save battery if you have a mobile with an OLED screen. And it is that unless the pixels turn off completely and display black, the screen is still consuming battery. But it's an interesting change.
Of course, unlike other Google applications, there is no button to activate this dark mode. We will need to have Android 9 Pie with the dark mode function for the entire terminal. If this is active, either from the notifications button or from the mobile Settings menu, we will see the Google Pay application tinted in dark gray. But there is no way to activate it manually, whenever we feel like it.
For those of you who are patient enough, you just have to wait for version 2.96 of Google Pay to appear in the Google Play Store app store. In a few days it should be available to all compatible Android users.
