Waze, an application owned by Google, does not stop adding new features despite the fact that Google Maps is also in good shape. The latest feature to come to the service is the integration of a home app, YouTube Music. Waze launched the in-app music player in 2018 and it is compatible with a bunch of popular apps like Spotify, Deezer, iHeartRadio, NPR One, etc. However, was not compatible with YouTube Music, Google's commitment to streaming music.
Google ensures that it is increasingly common to drive while listening to music through the mobile and that has made these services, like Google Maps, integrate with all kinds of music applications. The only problem is that YouTube Music will only be available to connect when Waze is a Premium subscriber, which costs €9.99 in Spain ( although you can use it for 3 months for free).
How to control YouTube Music from Waze?
Once YouTube Music Premium is integrated with Waze, you can choose songs, pause/play and skip from the application itself. The player, like those of the other applications, is reduced to a small icon in the upper left corner once the music is managed. To add YouTube Music to the player, the steps to follow are very simple:
- Click on the red musical note icon that you will find in the upper right corner of the screen.
- You will see various applications, which you have installed on your phone. In this case, we only had Spotify and YouTube Music.
- Pressing on this would suffice.
You can also display the full settings and choose YouTube Music from the list. From Waze they assure that they are very happy to carry out this integration. Waze says it wants users to have the best possible experience with the app in their car. The huge catalog of YouTube Music means a sure bet to be able to listen to all the music you want during every trip.
The feature is already rolling out to Waze in several countries and will be available to everyone in the coming weeks. If you still don't see YouTube Music as an available player, you may need to wait a few days.
