The protection of WhatsApp through fingerprint is coming to Android. Specifically, to those users who have version 2.19.184 beta of WhatsApp. The objective is to add an extra layer of security to one of the most used applications today. Of course, this new function must be configured in the terminal beforehand to completely prevent the use of the application, except for received calls.
To find out if you have this feature, the first thing you have to have is the corresponding beta version installed (2.19,184). Next, it is necessary to enter the app settings to later do the same in Privacy. Just below the option Fingerprint lock should appear. Once inside , you will see only one option at the moment: unlock with fingerprint. Place your finger on the reader until it is recognized and protection is activated. Keep in mind that if you had not previously registered your fingerprint on Android, you will need to do so before you can use it on WhatsApp.
You will now see two extra options. With the first, Block automatically, you can determine the time you want WhatsApp to take to block once you stop using it to keep your privacy at bay. You can choose between immediately, one minute or half an hour. With the second, Show content in notifications, you can choose whether or not you want WhatsApp notifications to let you see the preview of the messages when the application is locked.Otherwise, the text “a new message” will be displayed.
This protection will prevent another person from entering WhatsApp and thus reading your messages or replying to them. It can also help you so that you don't inadvertently enter a message and it is answered with random letters and numbers, something very common when we have our mobile phones in our pants pocket. In any case, the only exception are calls and video calls, which you can continue answering without having to unlock.
