Apple applies censorship in its application to take notes
Table of contents:
You have to be politically correct, yes. It is natural that this is required of us in certain contexts, but… what would you think if Will they force you to be very correct even in your personal notes? Surely you would reveal yourself, because... who has the power to demand that you make according to what comments and according to what terms when you write solely and exclusively for yourself?
Well, it looks like Apple wants you to be as slick as possible when using its notes appHow do you read it? The apple company could even be reaching the limit of censoring handwritten words in notes. Doesn't accept swear words and might be testing a new option to ban profanity.
Apple wants to censor swear words in its Notes app
Apple doesn't want profanity in handwritten text. How do we know? Well, it seems that at the moment this censorship hand is still not officially working.
However, a Reddit user in the r/iOSBeta subreddit who has tested a beta version of iOS has been able to verify that there is an algorithm with which Apple has managed to silence – or directly censor – a title for a handwritten note in which the word 'fuck' had been inserted, which literally translated would be 'fuck'.
Based on this user's experience, this option would already appear in the beta version of iOS 13 After testing again, he verified that, indeed, Apple is not the least bit amused that you write that curse word. What it does instead, and to combat words that don't sound good, is to give other suggestions that the author of the note may or may not accept, but which, in any case, pursue the objective of avoiding what sounds bad.
However, it seems that at the moment the Cupertino company would not be silencing or vetoing all the words that in principle do not sound good. This user has tested it with other words, such as 'ass', although this could not be considered a swear word. The tests should be carried out with expressions that can be offensive.
Other users have wanted to reproduce the same fact and, indeed, have verified that in iOS 13 Apple not only tries to propose another word, but what it does directly is censor the term (which in this case was 'fuck') to replace it with more politically correct underscores.
What could have bitten Apple?
Most of us agree that it is a complete absurdity to block words that sound bad. Simply because the language allows us a thousand and one combinations to express ourselves, which will allow us to bypass any type of control with relative ease.
In addition, as it is the notes application, we have to think that what the users who write through this tool are absolutely private thoughts and annotations, in which nobody you have to stick your nose in. That's why we wonder what might have bitten Apple to try to veto the swear words that users of its application write by hand on the screens of their devices.
